First time fixer long time gamer, I got a Atari space duel that didn't make the move across town. Now on power up it has a constant loud static noise, it will either
A. Have no pictures and the static
B. Have in blue 2 credits on the top and the letters R2 in the middle of the screen still with static.
C. Static and look regular but the second you start the game it crashes to no screen and static.
Any help would be great.

Found EAROM ER-2055 located at column 2 missing a leg and all legs rusty anyone have this laying around I could buy

I need to check voltages on pcb for 5 and 22. So says my research, I have no clue how or where at this point? I do own a multi-meter please advise

There are test points on the PCB for +5. They are right next to the upper edge connector. They look like two metal loops with markings that indicate they are test points. One for ground, the other for the +5.

When you are testing, you can adjust the +5 using the pot on your power supply. This pot could also be a source of your problem. It may need to be cleaned or replaced. I cleaned mine yesterday.

How do you go about cleaning that pot? And where is it located? I will download space duel manually when home from work

Does anyone have a testing voltage guide for dummys with pics for space duel or atarti games if I could just pinpoint what was the issue ill pay extra to replace it.,but I'm stuck on phase 1

So with power on put black on ground and other one on red? What should my meter be set at

Yes, black on ground and red on the +5. Meters are different. Attach the leads and turn on the game, and then adjust the meter until you have a reading that looks like its in the range of +5. The turn the pot to see what changes you get. That might all the game needs - a pot adjustment. I have mine set to +5.20 for this game.

There is a contact cleaner in a can you can use to clean it. You spray it and it seeps into the pot. Just make you you have turned off the game, removed the power board, and then made sure there you wipe up and residue from the spray before you plug it back in.
