Then yes....it would be nice to have it in an attract mode then........may have to switch the dips to check it out again. Havent seen it in years. =)
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
Plus when they are not familiar with Space Duel, the attract gives them a clue what the game is about, where the select screen doesn't really help much.
Yeah, I'm not particularly worried about burn-in... I just think free play games without attract mode aren't as cool (and those that start themselves suck... ehem Outrun ;-) ), and hope to make all my games have a proper attract mode in free play. I hacked the rest of my games to have free play, but most were really quick hacks just to get ready for a party, so the attract mode isn't active on most.

Hey, thanx for bringing my thread back from the dead!
Hope this can be done, yes it's not about screen burn it's about the stupid 4 squares just sitting there...not very appealing for anyone not knowing the game.

Well, there's no link because I am to lazy to build a web site for all of my hacks!
The ROMs were built for CAX but a last minute Space Duel cabinet swap left them behind this year. When I get around to unpacking the games I'll post a video.

Just grab a CoinUp-1up and have freeplay for any of your games![]()
Have any pics of one connected?
To a space duel specifically or do you mean any game?
The manual shows how to hook it up if that's what you're wondering about:

I got tired of this and spent a little time hacking it this weekend... I posted the hack in this thread: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=1507561 .
Let me know if it works/doesn't work for you.

The manual doesn't seem to clearly indicate (to me at least) where to splice in the wires?... Is it as simple as just adding the 4 extra wires?
