i just found a what use to be space dual...i can see the graphics throught the poorly painted sides and its now a tetris. a fun game but not original. Is it worth it to try to restore it. ive never actually restored a complete game minus adding new CPO and t moldings....but this one has cought my eye. I could probably get it for $100.00 and it works perfect but again is not space dual. ive never even played space dual is it any fun? I know its got a vector monitor originally so thats something to consider but im lost...help this newbie out...wait if i have 7 arcades and a pinball am i a newbie?....lol

You would probably have a hard time finding a vector monitor for it. Even if you did, would be expensive.

Have you read about the multi-vector projects? That is the cabinet being used. It would be expensive and take a lot of work but would be one potential option to allow it to play more than just Space Dual. Would need the vector monitor, a ZVG board, and a PC running a special version of MAME. That would be a lot of work and expense.

Another option would be use the standard MAME. Put in the multi-vector control panel but use a standard monitor. A guy developed new MAME features the last few months that simulate a vector monitor. The code needs to be redone to make use of a graphics card instead of doing it all within the CPU. Eventually, I would expect the features to be within the standard MAME build. The MAME team liked it but with it using the CPU it runs too slow. That would be the cheaper route to a multi-vector machine that would play Space Dual among other games. Would be easier to get up and running too. With a standard monitor could play more than just the vector games.

Was tetris a dedicated cab?? Or could i get stickers for the side if i bought it. I like tetris but hate not having a dedicated machine

no vector monitor ?

then its just another cab that needs tons of work

40 bucks would be my offer, maybe
depending on how nice it is or how bad, i would adjust my price depending

at auctions here, 10, 20 and 30 bucks i can get more cabs than i have time to work on them

if you do some more detective work and find an auction near you, you too can find cabe cheap that need lots of work

so, dont get suckered into paying too much for just another cabinet, would be my advice for a newbie
