Hi all,
I "had" a SPACE ATTACK cabinet by sega-gremlin. Last month the PCB decided to die. When I turn on the machine I can find only garbage on the screen and the led on the PCB lights (watchdog?). I'm worried the custom has gone... I've a couple of questions:

1) do you know where to find PCB schematics?
2) do you have more information about the custom chip on it? Is there a substitute somewhere?

here you can find cabinet picture, it's a pity leave it not working, doesn't it?

thank you,

This should be the same hardware as many other Sega/Gremlin games, so finding a schematic for one of those should be ok, in case there is no specific Space Attack manual. See here: http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=685

I had sucessfully tested a Space Attack Board in our Head On cab in the past. The Head On PCB also shows only garbage. Someone suggested it's the watchdog, but I have never found the time to check (hadn't far less electronic knowledge back then, it's years ago).

BTW, didn't you buy a Turbo cab and an empty Battlezone from me years age? ;)

Yes, I've seen the pics of BZ back when you finished the restoration. I never thought that possible, awesome!

I'm still a bit sad about selling that Monaco GP cocktail, it has such a unique look ;)

an update...

last night i had enough time to check pcb and power supply a little bit better. on the pcb everything looks ok but the power supply returns -17.5 instead of -12 and the trimmer is broken so I can't regulate it.
do you think -17.5V instead of -12 can enable watchdog circuit?

thank you

I changed the -12V trimmer but nothing changed, I've always about -18V and I can't regulate it, any idea? I've the same power supply as described in hang on schematics
