Southern Fried Gaming Expo, 2025

Yes they were just 1 dollar a piece so it must have been you. Already found some really good info in the replay magazines. Thanks again!

I was in the area on Sunday-only and walked in. I bought the magazines from you at around 11:00 a.m. I spotted some indie game developers I had built a few cabinets for about 2 years back and gave them a hard time over why they haven't released their game yet.
Yep, took a look at your post and recognize that as being one of the ones I brought.

We always take the swap meet money we make and have a shopping spree with all the other vendors, so thank you!

Always great to see my work out in the real world, being enjoyed. Thanks for posting.

Nice to see my high score is still there. That's how I 'sign' every boardset when I'm done refurbing them. Kudos to whoever beat it!

Also, I am supremely jealous of your F355. There aren't many games I still drool over, but that's one of them. Maybe someday when I have the space...

So many folks are afraid to bring vectors, but I had confidence knowing you had your hands on them. I thought I was going to have to pm you as I noticed on the 2nd day that the image was skewed, as if the cab was leaning to one side about a half inch. It didn't get any worse, so I let it ride. Im thinking the yoke might have been loose and got bumped around on the trip. Ill be checking in with you once I finally unload the trailer.

The f355 is still my grail game and has become what Im known for bringing as it makes the show every year I go. Definately one of my most prized possessions.

Thanks again for making my vectors reliable enough to be enjoyed by hundreds of people who dont normally have access to one!

If you haven't had the opportunity to make it to the Southern Fried Gaming Expo in Atlanta, GA, I highly suggest that you put it on your list of must attend expos. Some of you guys were there in spirit and didn't even know it:

The Outrun, Kung Fu Master, Tempest, Kangaroo, Asteroids, Centipede, and Pole Position on this row were mine.

I think 3 years ago or so I was planning on bringing Tempest and Asteroids to the show, but was concerned about whether the vectors could make it through the weekend. I asked @andrewb to go through the monitors and PCBs in the hopes that he could make them bullet proof as possible. I ended up missing that year because of work and they never made it to the show until now, but have been running perfectly for the last 3 years at home. They got beat on for 3 solid days last weekend, from 10am until nearly midnight, with 0 issues. BTW, Pole Position, Kangaroo, and Centipede were all running AndrewB serviced ARs and all connections cleaned using the AndrewB Deoxit / fiber pen method, and at some point I am sure each one of them benefited from an AndrewB tip, whether through his direct help or from one of his posts.

The Marque and box for Tempest was missing when I purchased it. Thanks to @Coindork who graciously donated this one at no charge, Tempest was looking good for the show thanks to KLOV family.

And someone finally knocked AndrewB off the top of the highscore list

I'm Goin, Fo Sho

I brought the Mold A Rama for the weekend, gave away around 1000 molds.
Salute!!!! This machine is the only one that I was so impressed to see there that I had to get a photo standing beside it. On the second day when you had the mold of the Georgia State Capital I talked with someone there that mentioned that the mold had been retired about 30 years ago and was being brought back for the first time at the show. Cool stuff. I sincerely appreciate you bringing this, as well as you and your crew taking the time to talk to everyone about the history of these machines and yours in particular. A beautiful piece! I can't remember which category it was entered in, but I definately voted for it in the best of show awards. Don't remember which one won, but I do remember being shocked that yours didn't take home the title.

A few questions I didn't get to ask:

Probably no way that after so many years it still looked so nice - did you do the restoration?

What does big girl weigh?

I am sure it was several hundred dollars in material to give away 1000 molds! How awesome for you to have done this. What is the cost of the material per mold?

Again, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - definitely one of my faves!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words, it was a lot of fun to share something you don't see every day. We didn't come close to winning our category lol. Yea on the restoration (more of a preservation than full on restoration), weighs around 800 pounds. I never really calculated cost per mold, but a bag of material is several hundred dollars and I went through a bag and a half.

I live about a mile away from the site, but had to miss this one for the first time in quite a few years. The date change up to June screwed me over.

But as Ahnolt would say, "I'LL BE BACK."

Love the AL tax stamps.

You ever run into Milton McGregor back in the day? He ran my hometown's arcade ("Happy Tymes") before making the jump to Victoryland and the big money. Went to high school with his daughter.
