Recently, my South Park Pin dispays "Open Door" when I start it up. After I do (and reset the game to free play) it seems to play as normal. It is almost as if it forgot the settings that I gave it the last time I used it...

I don't turn the Pin on every day, probably once a week or less. Is there a battery on the motherboard somewhere that may need replacement? I did notice that after I turned it on and reset free play that when I turned if off and on again (after about 10 seconds) it did not display "open Door" and it did remember to be in Free Play mode?!?...

Thanks for any help / advice!

Biggest board in the head has three AA batteries on it. Replace them and hope you don't have battery corrosion on the board. Get the new ones in facing the same direction.

Thanks! I'll check it out tonight. About how long do 3 AA batteries last in there?

Generally they should be replaced every year.

I do mine on New Years so I don't forget.

If the batteries have leaked onto the battery holder and also possibly onto the CPU board, you have bigger problems that will need to be addressed.

If the batteries have simply died without leaking, sacrifice an extra chicken to the Pinball Gods for your good fortune and always replace them regularly in the future.

3 bucks worth of old leaking batteries can destroy hundreds of dollars worth of pinball board.

The lithium batteries that energizer sells are made not to leak. The only problem is they are a little pricey around 9.50 for a four pack. But to protect precious pinball and arcade boards I think they're worth it.

Well, that was exactly it, corroded batteries. Popped them out, vacuumed and cleaned tha contacts with alcohol, replaced with Engizer advanced lithiums and viola, good as new.

Thanks guys!!
