Source for Pokey Chips?

Bob Roberts sells them. I know they're in many early 80's Atari games (Asteroids Deluxe, Tempest, Centipede, Millipede, Missile Command, etc.) but don't have a comprehensive list.

Would Pole Position have them by any chance? Essentially, my tempest had the one that controls the spinner go bad in it, and if I could rob it out of a game I have that is collecting dust right now it would be good, lol

I don't think Pole Position uses any POKEY chips... it's a Namco product just licensed to Atari.

I know for sure it is a POKEY chip on my tempest as I swapped them and the issue changed as it was supposed to, but which of the 2 is for the spinner as that is where the bad one is currently sitting.

Had the same issue awhile back. The POKEY chip at B/C2 controls the spinner inputs.

Ordered it from Bob Roberts.

Thanks for all the info guys! I found a source for them that has them NOS and as a plus I don't have to rip open any old computers or rob any of my games!

7800 ball blazer has one.. but you need to desolder it.. I would think there is one in every 2600..

There is one in every 5200, not 2600.

The 2600 only has 3 chips: 6507 CPU, 6532 RIOT, and a custom TIA chip.

I have over 30 ballblazer carts to eventually harvest POKEYs from. :)

Some years back, there was a family that had like a million Ballblazer cartridges stored in a salt mine or a cave or something and they were selling them for a buck a piece.

Can't find the website- it looks like it is gone.
