Source for Playchoice 10 Smoked Plexi

Any glass shop can order smoked glass or plexi for you, although no place seems to stock it. Smoked tempered glass is often about the same price, so I usually get that instead of plexi.

Original dedicated or DK conversion? The dedicateds I have seen and mine were glass. Really looks good too. I know the VS conversion kits were plexi.

i need the same for my dual monitor playchoice 10. my game is close to mint all over but the plexi is scratched. on a dual is it one piece thats bent or is it two pieces. i havent looked yet?

Someone on KLOV repro'd those for Punch-Out and the dual monitor PC-10s. Search for it. They might have some left.

It came both ways. One piece is better and was the one repro'd.

They should always be glass, the reason is if you install a gun, kids can scratch the shit out of the plexi with it. The guns don't scratch the glass even if it's abused.

When it was a punchout, they all shipped with plexi. The dedicated dual monitors shipped with two pieces of smoked glass with a metal retainer in the middle, and the dual monitor kits to convert the punchout to PC10 shipped with the bracket and the two pieces of glass (because of the gun/scratch issue)

Mine was a DKJr converted to a Vs unisystem converted to a Playchoice.

I am not worried about scratches, but I am worried about price! :D

I know Rich @ This old game has smoked plexi. He sells it for Missile Command. Maybe he can cut you a piece.

My buddy who works at a glass place usually gets me tinted/tempered game glass at about $20 - $25 a piece and that isn't even something they even normally sell (they are really a mirror shop and shower door shop), so I am sure other glass shops can probably do about the same.

how would i find out if it was? its never been restored and everything is original on the inside. and yes i have the gun....which is why the plexi is all scratched up on mine

If it's got the gun, it's probably a dedicated playchoice, if you look really close where the plexiglass 'bends' in the middle, if it was a dedicated playchoice it would have had a metal bracket there and two pieces of glass from the factory... so you'd see the holes on each side where the bracket was mounted.

If yours has plexiglass on it right now, it likely was originally a punch out and they never swapped the plexi/glass out.

You never know though, people could have kitted it back and forth over the years, hard to tell.

You could also look inside the backdoor and see if the original backdoor sheet is in there, if there's a playchoice back door sheet, look at the staple holes and see if it's original or if it replaced another sheet (Punchout!) that's been removed.

the back door sheet is there and looks to be original to the door as the stapes are there and very acurate. my plexi is one piece that has been heated and bent it appears and i cant seem to see any holes but its hard to see through the tinted plexi. its completly possible that this started out a punch out and until this thread i never knew that happened. regardless of what it was it will forever be a PC10 as long as its in my possesion and i love it more than any other game i own. and to make it close to mint i need to fix the glass. so do you all think i should get glass and fins the proper bracket or go back to plexi? which would be cheaper (not that thats a major factor just wondered) thanks and sorry if im highjacking this thread with my newbie questions.
