My Asteroids Deluxe keeps bloomin, and I swear the thing sat there fine for an hour today, I go to play it and 5 min later starts to bloom. Sigh.

Bob is apparently sold out - anyone know where to get the HV diodes for 19v vector monitors?

Sometimes, just taking the diode out of it's "holder" and giving everything a good cleaning will fix it.

And sometimes soldering the diode will fix it.

NTE does make replacements for some of those diodes, but not all of them.

Ken --

forgive my ignorance, but it's just a diode, right? shouldn't you be able to get a diode that handles the voltage? AFAIK, either it works or it doesn't... it's not like there are several parameters involved...

or are there?

Thanks

I used a NTE505 in my V2000 a few days ago. I solder the wires to the diode and drilled out the plastic cups a little to make it fit. It turned out pretty good although; I still have a minor blooming issue. :(

while we are on this topic - can someone confirm :

G05-802 = H1809

19-V2000 = H1812

I have been looking around for these here and there but havent come up with anything yet. If I ever find a stash of them I will buy up all I can.
I noticed bob roberts has been out of them for quite some time now.
