Hi experts! The CR-23 adapter for my B+K Rejuv has a couple pin terminals that the wires broke free from. Someone previous to me tried to repair at least one of them by soldering the wire to the terminal. It didn't really hold. I'm not having much luck trying to open up the crimp to try to reuse it.

Is there a source for these right angle neck-socket crimp terminals? I'd love to just buy a new adapter from AP&R but they're out of stock on the CR-23 adapter so I need to try to fix this one.

Thanks!

I can probably make a new CR23 adapter this week if you want to go that route. I was selling them for a while but haven't had a ton of time to assemble them.

Unfortunately I don't know what you can do about those broken pins.

I have never seen those pins sold anywhere. You might be able to carefully grind away the wire crimp portion, solder the wire to the terminal and crimp the insulation/strain relief portion.

Those pins can easily be fixed.

Take a small file or piece of sandpaper, and scuff up the spot on the pin where the inner (i.e., conductor) crimp is, just to expose bare shiny metal to help the solder stick. Strip the wire back fresh, and solder it to that spot. Then bend the outer (insulation) crimp over the wire insulation, to hold it.

I usually also put a piece of shrink tubing over the insulation crimp when I do pin repairs like this, to give it a little more mechanical support. (Just remember to slide it onto the wire BEFORE you solder the conductor.) :)

They weren't a as of a few days ago! I should have inquired to see if they were restocking anytime soon. They had shown out of stock for a bit.

I ended up ordering one from @SNESNESCUBE64, and will still try to repair my existing one per the tips in this thread so I can keep the original with the unit. Thanks though! The CR-31 adapter I got from you is top notch!

no problem and you can sign up to automatically get an email notification on any product on the site that is out of stock just so you know for the future. i watch them too for items that we build as i am NEVER out of stock of them just tough to find time to build them sometimes but i will make time sooner if i see customers want a specific item. its super rare that most anything on our site is truly out of stock so its best to ask if in doubt.

Good to know. I had actually subscribed to a notification some weeks back, and then when checking that they were still out of stock before posting this thread a couple days ago I tried to sign up again and got a message that I was already subscribed for that product. I don't think I saw any stock update notification emails come in, and just checked my spam as well with nothing. For what that's worth. Could be on my end, but you may want to confirm that system is working. Thanks for everything you do!
