I had to steal a LETA chip from my Rampart board to get my 720 up and running. Now I need to replace the one I pilfered. I know the usual answer is to find one on a Blasteroids or Road Blaster or some other Atari pcb.
I have seen Jrok's project page where he turns some modern chip into a LETA. I do not remotely have the knowledge to understand what he is talking about, let alone to build the thing.
I don't think he is selling the chips he figured out how to make. Has anyone else made these? Has anyone duplicated what Jrok did? Is anyone up for the job? Does anyone know of a huge NOS stash of these chips?

Which Blasteroids board is it on? Main CPU? Sound board? I have a few peripheral Blasteroids boards I could look at...

I think its on the the main CPU board. I think that Badlands has one on the cpu board too. In fact I believe every System II cpu board also has at least one.

I have a scrap Rampart and Road Riot boards here for parts... If either of them has one I'd be happy to pull it for you. I'm not where I can check the boards at the moment.

Sounds great! Let me know what you find. Rampart should have 2 of them.
These chips seem temperamental or fragile. When I got my 720, the LETA was bad. I replaced it with one from a spare board, and I think 5.5v cooked it.

Dave Adams claimed to have a huge stash... which is why I stopped looking into replacements... heh.

Two LETA chips will ship tomorrow!

Hope you get your game back to running right.
