You know, the ones that are used on the exterior of cabinets to hold on the metal grills, etc. The threads look a bit like a drywall screw.

What are they called, where can you get them?

Thanks!

i thought they used something that looks like a rivet that is hollow to me when i look at the grills on my asty and mc cocktail.its like theres no head to talk about realy, just hollow like rivet!
:)

Yeah, the speaker grills seem to all be held in with rivets. The only exterior screws I'm aware of on Atari cabs are the button head cap screws that hold marquee brackets. But they have machine threads (10-24) and don't look like drywall screws.

I think he's talking about the "square" bit screws....like on the air vent grill on the top of most Atari cabinets...

I was just about to ask the same question. I had to replace a speaker on my APB and the screws that were holding the grill; were about stripped to nothing!

Maybe that's for newer stuff? I'm used to seeing what looks like drywall black screws, commonly used in the cabinet construction and holding the backdoor on. Often screw drive? Then, on the SW cockpit for example, the black washerhead screws, in both philips and square drive. I think McFeeley's has both.

They might be. I seen them while looking for something else.
