Sound Jamma Problem

I got a Captain America cabinet and wanted to play some other jamma games. The sound wires, were going into this white plastic piece on the board, seperate from the jamma dock.

I wanted to make it easier to switch out boards, so I wanted to move these 4 wires onto the jamma harness. However, how I am usure where these 4 wires go onto the harness. I have tried a few different combos, but I am only getting a hum out of the speakers and no game sound.

Please see the attached pictures. The white plastic piece, below the jamma dock is where the sound wires were hooked up to, but there are no other spots like this on other boards, so I can't change out the sound. I want to be able to easily switch the jamma harness between boards with the sound. I have the AUD and SPK places open where the wires should go, I think, but I am unsure which order they connect. I have tried different combos but only get a hum or a repeating click sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You will need to rewire your speakers. The harness you have is for stereo output and the standard Jamma harness will only support mono. So, wire your speakers in parallel and the connect the wires to positions '10' for positive and 'L' for negative.

Thanks for your quick response. I understand how to wire the speakers in parallel, but which positions '10' and 'L' are you referring to? - PS: I am new to working on arcade games

L/10 are the speaker wires on the JAMMA connector.

L is solder side, meaning the side of the JAMMA harness that's facing the underside of the board, and 10 is the parts side, meaning facing the side with the components on the top.

it's nothing you have to change, I think he meant to just take the mono JAMMA speaker wiring and just wire them to the speakers in parallel.

make sure in your Captain America test mode that you change the sound output mode to Mono, otherwise it'll only play the left channel sounds (cause it's going to play the right channel sounds out of the extra stereo header on the board)

hope this helps.

Ok, so I am getting ready to try this.

As far as wiring the speakers goes, can you explain this a little further? Right now I have two different wires going into each speaker. How can I wire these in parallel? I am a little confused on this as I am new. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ;)

Positive to 10 , Negative to L on the JAMMA harness.
There is also a jumper you have to move over from stereo to mono on the Captain America board and then it should work fine through the mono JAMMA harness.
