i just odered a new board off ebay. Before my last board took a crap it worked fine playing and all. On the new board i can load the "tokens" to play but when i hit the play button for one or two player nothing happens....could it be a bad board? Or should i check something? PLEASE help. Im having NO LUCK with my arcades. Thank god my burgertime works perfect!!! LMK what you guys think about this issue

so it couldnt be the actual board it has to be a ground issue? id hate to return it for no good reason if its not the board. Everything else works. but i cant get it to play with the player one or two buttons??

First your gonna have to test the ground before you can determine if thats the issue or not. have you gone into the test menu and see if the buttons register? Do you have another board you can test?

no its my only jamma board i have the other two are doa. I can go into the test mode and move the joystick up and down but cant pick anything becaue of the button....help guys!!!!

Have you looked at the cab yet?

If the up and down on the Joystick works then you should be looking at the control panel and see if the daisy chained ground is fully connected. It is extremely unlikely that this is a board issue...

ok you lost me daisy chain?? i was messing around with it and i got it to play one game then nothing so its not the board. its in the wiring. if i post pictures would that help? i really mis playing my game!! im glad its not the board! also thee is a ground on the board should i ground it? i dont remember if i had one on my last board but the little metal tab is there....im trying guys...keep the help coming!!!! thanks a billion!!!

Daisy chain is a term used to say that all of the grounds are linked together tied to one another like the links of a chain. If one link is broken then all links following the break will not work.

Since you said it worked for you one time I'd say that one of the crimps or solder joints is loose and that is your problem. You need to inspect them all, just pull the wires at the connection points one by one and you'll likely find one pulls apart. Repair this connection and that should solve your problems.

Pictures may help if the disconnect is obvious, but since the break seems intermittant (it worked once) pics are not likely to help.

on the side of the board there is a metal "plug that says ground. Should it be grounded. I dont remember the old board before it burned out having on there.....what do you think?>

I'd need a pic to be sure, but it sounds like a test point telling you where to put your ground connection from your test equipment such as a multimeter.

If its wired the right way you need to follow the black wires on the under side of your control panel. Make sure they are chained together and making good contacts to each other and the buttons. Good contacts to the harness and to the board are also needed.

I'm still fairly new to working on my machines so I remember knowing absolutly nothing about them. So I hope this helps get you started.

everything looks good...im so lost. could it be the board? But it did play once on a fluke when i was messing with it....so i assume its not
