Hi

Just want to announce this

After the present Amplifone board is finished the Star wars Filter board will be getting repro'd. This has come about from a recent AR2 mishap I had involving a sense circuit runaway. After the AR2 burned I noticed a bad pin on the 44 pin edge connector

So if yours looks a bit poor, upgrade it!

Sneak peak

Bare PCB only will be made at this stage

Estimated cost for 1 x bare PCB is expected to be about $65.00, if I can get about 30 PCBs sold

Cost would be more if numbers are lower than 30

If interested, let me know :)

Love your projects Dez, but my advise is to always get rid of these.

They serve very little purpose and are a source of extra resistance for the power (and all the other signals) to and from the PCB set.

My SW came without it, I think the Irish ones never had them because no FCC rules here and Atari probably thought they were pointles too.....

There is one advantage.....now the filter board got burned your PcB set is still fine :)

If there is one thing underestimated in restoring games it is the edge connector. You simply MUST replace it. After 30+ years, they don't have any grip anymore.....

That's why I do the sense mod.....and replace the connector. But I got to go with level 42 on this one. I'm tempted to commit just to have my boards complete, but the extra cash seems better served on another project. Maybe a single board amplifone chassis.

Hahaha! touche'

Thanks for your honesty Chico, and Andre'

I might just simplify the board then, so it's directly connected, IE: not a repro but a compatible alternative

Looks like I don't need it anyway.

How many others connect these directly? (Without the Filter)

got my eye on this. I'll likely pick one up. How's the amp deflection board going?

No probs

Not much interest here on these. I didn't realize they weren't needed until Andre told me

Amp deflection: Hope to get to it soon :D, doing a DIY kitchen reno at present . . . Life goes on
