...make decent work bench monitors. Bought this 5" used Sony PVM off ebay for $9 with shipping it was like $28 total. It's missing the metal housing and the left board bracket is damaged, but otherwise it works.

Working on a JAMMA work bench testing station right now. I got the idea after visiting a store I hadn't been to in ages, Electronic Parts and More (EPO). I think I may find another cheapy 5 or 8 inch on ebay if they turn up. So I can have something cosmetically good for carrying around if the situation calls for it.

That seems like a good buy. I searched Ebay for one of these a few years ago, but the prices always seemed too high on them... like > $50. I wound up settling for a Samtron. Does the PVMC you have there have RGB/Sync input on back?

Yes sir it does! Accepts RGB and exterior syncs.

I spy a speaker in the bg of your pics - you know these buggers have a speaker (mono) in them as well

I know, the speaker in the background was originally what I had bought with this JAMMA harness 2 years ago. I didn't have a monitor to test with at the time so I was relying on audio feedback until the PVM came in the mail.

But would the mono audio output from the JAMMA board be ok to be fed into the PVM's audio amp? It wouldn't screw up my JAMMA board's amp?

On that note, I have to make some RGB + Sync connectors for this PVM monitor. Little annoying to just stuff the wires in the connectors and they fall out if you move anything.
