I found this Sony Magnetics branded switcher in the bottom of a converted cabinet I am currently working on. I haven't tested it yet, and opened it up to check it out. After a quick bath, everything looks pretty darned nice, even the caps. I'm thinking I'm going to recap and reuse this Japanese made switcher just because it's a Sony. Maybe not that interesting to most, but I think it's cool.

I may just have to leave the caps original, because I haven't been able to find a 200V (or higher) 430uF cap on Mouser or Digikey with 10mm lead spacing and a 28x28-ish mm profile.

it's not so much an issue of lead spacing, but rather just lack of anything that isn't twice as tall as what would fit into the box.

I picked up a cab a few weeks ago with a Sony power supply. First one I have seen. Does anybody know what years they were made?
