So, I shotgunned my G07 monitor in my cinematronics world series the season cab. The reason I shotgunned it in the first place was because the small fuse was shot, and I figured what the hell, why not do everything all at once just in case it has any other issues. Well, I replaced a ton of parts, and did the "upgrade" described in the bob roberts writeup. (I did the deluxe repair kit from bob roberts btw). After I finished, I plugged it back into my cab to finally get to play this game. Turn on the power, and the regulator shorts (saw some arcing on it). The short fuse blew again. So, I tried the circuit breaker tester to see if it would do it again, or if it was a fluke, and then the big fuse blew (DAMNIT!). What's wrong with this thing? The regulator is not touching metal aside from the wires going to it.

You did put the mica insulator back between the VR and the wall?

You running this through an isolation transformer?

You obviously have a short. Go back over all of your work and look for solder bridges, splashes, or anything else that could be a problem, like the regulator wired up backwards (although that alone won't blow it up)...

Yeah, I put the mica insulator back between the vr and wall. I put the new one in the same direction the old one was in, but that's not to say the old one wasn't backwards. It does appear to be running through the original isolation transformer as well. My solder work is usually pretty spot on, but I was using a new desoldering gun to do a lot of the work instead of my trusty iron, or there may have been a short previously which caused it to blow before. I'll have to check it out tomorrow, but now, I don't have any more fuses to replace the two new ones >_<.

Well, I could probably use the old long one, but I'm out of shorts.
