so, there was a dude selling 2 Homerun Hitter's with a jackpot marquee (pics below).. anyway, i saw them on craigslist last week for a brief period of time listed in Southampton.. then they appear being much closer to me.

the kid wanted $300 for them originally.. then dropped to $125. after emailing him today, i got him down to $65. I didnt want these long-term, but just until my son's party in December.

Since they appeared on CL, I PM Todd Tuckey (TNT is located in Southampton). he told me he gave them away for free. OK, so this guy is trying to make a quick buck.. no big deal, we all do that at times.

I go and check them out. they were disassembled (the pics he had on CL were fully assembled). they were dirty as hell inside, and i just dont mean dust. they probably got wet at one time. So, knowing what I knew from Todd, i ask the dude how long he had them. He said about 4-5 years. This kid is in a $400,000-$500,000 home (with 2 late model corvettes and a volvo) and there is no way in hell these machines were inside in their current condition (they were also dirty on the outside). I play along and kick a few tires (it needed glass on the game and the coin slot got stuck on the one).. offered him $30 cuz of all the labor it would need to clean up nice plus plexi.

on my way out, i mentioned that TNT had these recently and are they the same ones? he said no. I then said 'funny, cuz the pics looked like the ones on his CL ad. He told me that he took the pictures in his garage and they were not a warehouse.

here are the pics

hmmm wow thats one big garage lol

what a douche

Yeah, that ladder in the background looks pretty big to be standing up in a garage. Maybe one of those RV garages... Not to mention that it looks like a cinder block wall back there?

thats MY rental warehouse! And I took those pictures! (The pinball bodies scattered about, I am trying to match up with the heads.....very very soon, I will be having a GIANT cheap pinball machine parts sale....LOTS of complete bodies and some heads without boards---so stay tuned!!!)
I offered them for free and got 6 people who emailed within the hour they were up on Craigslist. They were probably left outside at some point...we took them in trade and they sort of powered up, but I didn;t want to deal at all with them...and rather than take boardfs, etc out and sell on GreedBay, I figured I would give them away to someone who may want to fix em up!! They were picked up within the hour I posted them!!

Don't be shy about posting the free stuff here first! :) The odds are that the items will be restored vs. a straight up flip like that guy did. Either way, it is cool that you offered the up for free. I'm just looking out for my KLOV brothers up there.

You'd be reasonable to flag it, since the photos are yours and he's deliberately mis-representing the current state of the things.

I have no problem with people flipping stuff, but I damn well don't like them lying about stuff.

They are back up on Craigslist with new photos! Down to $50. You cannot begrudge the guy to try to make a buck. I will never forget the guy that trashpicked a Zaxxon conversion I threw out at my old house in Philly...broken picture tube and no board...it was free of course...and a couple days later he showed up at TNT wanting me to buy it for $100! He said it didn;t work of course...I pointed out the tube was broken and no board and that I had thrown it out a few days ago and that it was the same game...and he said, well how about $50?!

ROFLMAO, talk about balls
Hey, Gimmee a hundred for this prime game!
Hell no, its garbage. I threw it away yesterday!
You did?
Yes, I did.
Ok........how 'bout 50 then?

I knew a couple of people in Ky when I lived there, ran a used furniture store, had a nice delivery truck. also Had an old junky pickup they drove in the early mornings, following the routes the garbage trucks use (before the trucks run). Anything that was sat on the curb wound up for sale in the store

That's some chutzpah there (the 'well, how about $50' part). Got to give him points for that. Of course, minus points for wasting your time, but still...

Get used to it folks. At our previous house you had to call and schedule a large trash pickup, so we tended to hoard stuff in the garage and call twice a year. So the day before the pickup, we would start tossing stuff in a big pile near the curb. Inside of minutes, we usually had 4-6 pickup trucks circling the block just waiting for us to go in the house so they could pick through it.

One time, the garbage guys came up to the house to ask if we had put the stuff out because all that was left was 2 empty cardboard boxes and a couple of busted up toys from our son. The original pile was about 10'x8' and 5' high.

It is not unusual to see lawn service trucks and the trailers driving around piled up with what was obviously stuff somebody threw out. LOL. I always thing of that Volkswagon commercial where the two guys pick up a chair on the side of the road and stick it in the car. A minute later they obviously start smelling it and the final scene is the chair back on the side of the road with somebody slowing down... :D

I always had that stuff happen when I lived in an apartment. I took one of those papasan chairs down to the trash area, went and got more trash, and it was gone when I came back. Someone hauled that chair away in about two minutes. They had to be watching me to see what I did with it.

You guys will hate me, but I threw out at my old house in NE Philly 40 pinball bodies..complete (I kept the heads with the electronics)....games like Cosmic Gunfight(still have the head!), Genie, Space Invaders (still have the head) Embroyn (still ahve the head), Sinbad, several Meteor, Black Hole, etc....playfield glass, coin doors, lock down bars all there...this was in 1995 and pinball machines were worth $600 to $800 retail and we were overloaded...and no internet to get rid of them...
I did take a couple slides I will have to fin d with them lined up...a few were taken and then a neighbor complained and the police came and told me I couldn;t do it...dragged them behind my bushes and put out two at a time...as they were taken, dragged more....until they all went.....but we still took another 50 to the dump...I have 35mm slides of the bodies all loaded in the back of our truck....they weigh the truck going in and going out....it cost $175 to throw those bodies away back then! CLUNK! Todd
