Its a cool game from what I remember. My brother always talks about it because he used to play it at the local arcade in the 80's.
You can check it out on mame but the mame emulation doesnt do it justice.
I cant remember for sure but I think that game might have speech.

One of the local collectors (Joe G) had it at the 2008 Houston expo. I think he may have sold it over the summer. It is an interesting ripoff of Space Invaders. Same ships dropping from the top, you are firing from the bottom style. There were some differences but the Space Invaders feel is what I remember about it.

New York

I think this is one of PrOks favorite games. He might chime in to coax you to pick it up for your self. There is a reason he likes it so much.

I know Jon (eXidy) had one while he was in Florida tucked away in his garage ... not sure if he still has it or what happened to it.

P.S. Can't wait to hear the story on why this is one of prOk's faves ... someone spill it already.

...

Awesome! I've owned 2 of them myself.
Only seen 3 since I started collecting and saw the game only once (it was here in Boulder at the Shakey's Pizza Place) back in 1980.

I'm curious as to if the cab is in as good condition as it looks in the CL photo.

It's in pretty decent condition. The CL ad photo looks nicer than it really is because of the size/quality of the photo. It will clean up nice with minimal work.

The inside was super clean. I'll take some photos next time I drag it out.

I encountered one in a warehouse back in 2002. A few hours later... Well, the operator was cleaning house, and you can see what he did with it...

One of the local discount chain stores in my hometown had a few arcade games in the entrance area and I remember playing New York New York. The game does have speech and it's a fun game, but can become repetitive after a while. It's kind of like Galaxian.

Still, it's pretty rare as this is only the second one I've seen mentioned in the past year or two.

The monitor needs a rebuild, so I put a different monitor in it last night and the game works perfect, speech and all. It is an interesting game, that's for sure. The cabinet is in decent shape too, just needs a little cleaning.
I'll get some pictures soon, the wife has the camera.
I'll have to let the wife play it and see if she likes it. If not, I'll be getting rid of it and searching for a Galaga for her.
