I have a Game Plan "Family Fun" cocktail pin that will power up with all gen. illumination, but that's it. Looking for a member here or a person who repairs Game Plan CPUs to send these to to be tested/repaired.

Thanks

Post pics of the MPU.
Is there any acid damage to the MPU?

You might try contacting Jim at:
Echo Lake Pinball Service & Sales
voice: 330-278-2228
925 Marwin Dr.
Hinckley, Ohio 44233

They are making a New MPU's, but only 20 at a time. You may need to get on a list to get a new one. Talk to Jim to see if they can do repairs.

Re seated all of the socketed chips on the MPU and now I am getting this on the displays when I power the machine on.

Player 2 (6)

Game Plan pinball MPU/CPU's are hard to work on. It is a weird system. Reproduction MPU's were made a while ago and if you can find a repro board your better off.

I was about to give the same reply as Ken:

John's Jukes in Canada. They repaired my Fascination board about 10 years ago and they are nothing short of fantastic.

I have a foxy lady and bought a reproduction board. Works great! I highly recommend one. Previous poster is correct in that they do them in small runs based on requests. It was $200 I believe. All other boards on the machine are quite basic and easy to repair.

Not booting, just GI and the cooling fan in the bottom of the cabinet is on and the numbers in the display, that's as far as it will go.

John Wart will sell you ROMS on his website here: http://www.thatpinballplace.com/ If it isn't listed, email him and ask for him. His prices are reasonable and his service is fast.

The problem is that the ROMS that are available now are not pin-compatible with the old ROMS that are on the CPU board, you will have to "cut and jump" the board to get them to work. Clay's repair guides has instructions for MPU-2, and I tried to make instructions for the MPU-1 here: http://home.comcast.net/~dadindenver/live_to_fly_again.htm I was able to get it to run, after I found another bad trace on the MPU board. It took me several weeks to rebuild the MPU board, and about $75 in parts, but I do electronics design for a living.

I would suggest that you find an Echo Lake board for replacement. They use the newer components that are not obsolete, and all of the reviews say that it works great.
