someone keeps on flagging our Craigslist Rusty Quarters Ads

I'm only posting this because I know someone will be Flagging this post any second now on MN Craigslist:

ATTENTION GAME BUYERS/RESELLERS, STOP FLAGGING OUR ADS! (Minneapolis)

Recently we have been posting ads for our arcade, Rusty Quarters Retro Arcade & Museum. We are a small Arcade in Uptown Minneapolis that also buys and sells used Nintendo, Sega, and Atari games and consoles. Even though we have been posting our ads in the correct Craigslist guidelines (Wanted/For Sale,Video games, by dealer), our ads keep on getting flagged. I'm assuming this is either a store that assumes that we are their rival (which we are not) or a disgruntled work-at-home merchant that believes that we are cutting into their "buy for cheap and sell for more on ebay" sales.

For the last time, please stop flagging our ads. Trust me when I post this that we are not taking away any big business from you. On average we make only $20-$40 a week on used game sales and offer this service not only because of the convenience of buying/selling games and a arcade but to keep our resale licenses up to date. We post these ads not only to let potental customers know that we buy/sale games but that we're a neighborhood arcade in the MN area. When you flag our ads, all that does is for me to change some wording and repost. You do not gain anything from flagging our ads.

Please be fair and also treat this message as a warning. Unfortunately flagging an account is an automated system, which makes the act anonymous. It would be a shame for future "Games for Sale/wanted" ads to be flagged by another anonymous party just because one person can't play nice on Craigslist.

I'm assuming that you guys know that there has been some chatter on craigslist from a very angry someone that has been picking on neighborhood MN businesses that deal in buying/selling of Arcade and Cartridge Games.

Buying and reselling Atari, Nintendo, and Sega games and consoles if a very cut-rate business in Minneapolis/St. Paul Area. Turns out that there is alot of Work-at-Home "buyers of cheap and resale them for more on Ebay" dealers that think (new) local used game businesses are cutting into their action. Also for some reason theirs a resaler that I have assured that we are no threat to their across town business, still assumes that we're the bad guys... we'll this is what I've been told from their customers.

All we are is a small arcade that happens to buy and sell used games and consoles. We're not making big $$$ from these transactions. I only mention this on KLOV, because I can only assume 3 types that are flagging our ads...

1) A work at home reseller that think were stealing their business.
2) A used games dealer that thinks were stealing their business.
3) Someone on KLOV that really hates me, my arcade, and the way I do business and gets off from trying to make us fail.

If it's No.3, then please stop. All it does is add 2-3 more minutes of me just changes some words around and reposting. I'm not cutting into anyone's action. I haven't done anything to warrant this hostility, so just stop.

and that's all I got to say on this subject.... now I'm off to post more ads...

Why are you bothering with Craigslist ads? It's a waste of time and not the market you're after. Just do some commercials, it's cheaper than you think. Call your cable company and ask.

Will do soon. Craigslist works out pretty well for us and sometimes we can score some good deals for our store. It's good and local... there's just alot of at-home/ebay reseller competition.

The only sucky thing is that someone is flagging ALL reseller stores! Just one guy. Like I said we get alot of local exposure due to craigslist.

Channel 5 news just wrapped up a segment about RQ. That should bring in alot of summer business.

Isn't there a way to protest to Craigslist? If not I hate this guy...I had a vandal on the wki I'm an admin of and it was really hard to get rid of 'em

Nope, more or less it's all automated. you can flag an ad for any reason and then POOF! your ad is gone. The only thing that you can do is reword the same ad so it get approved and post again.

There's a lot of that everywhere in the country. I don't care, it doesn't effect me. I get more stuff in than I can deal with.

From experience it won't last long. A few days at most.

You need to figure a long term solution.

LTG :)

It takes more than one guy with one account to flag a post.

EDIT: I see this has been addressed. BTW ... the number it takes varies depending on the city you are in according to some sources.
