Golden Tee Fore Complete: Home Edition - $500

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/vgm/2669615538.html

Not mine... Looks to be in great condition, and $500 seems like a great price on a GT Complete. Just around the corner from me, so I'd pick it up, but I already have a GT Complete.

Anyone know if the "coin door deactivated by the manufacturer" is a big deal? Is it a non-functional coin door on these home units, or just a matter of connecting the harness to the door yourself?

I'm a bit 'old' for the Golden Tee crowd.

Funny you say that... I was a child of the seventies, and just caught the "Golden age" of arcades in high school/college, but in my 30's I had a renaissance of bar-hopping days right before I got married, and got hooked on GT. The great thing about it is the relaxed pace (especially at home, when you disable the stroke timer)... You can play while you drink and not worry if a few minutes pass between turns.

I didn't realize you could deactivate the stroke timer.

THAT would make the game much more enjoyable.

I could see putting GT next to my pins, so that people waiting for play on the pins could be playing golf too.

At $500, it's not interesting to me. Now if I could shatter his world and take it home for $250, we'd be talking. Even then I'm like 'meh.'

God I'm a tightwad.

Woman who is selling this had it in her garage sale a couple weeks back and no takers. I saw it and passed too. Not a horrible deal, but I have no room so I only want the games I really want and I am cheap too, so I wouldn't pay $500.

I think the Carbones in the grove might be buying it. The owner told me about the deal and they offered 350.00 so i might have one more there to work on. That's a hell of a deal though.
