Some of my collection on free-play at a music festival

I put 9 games (counted as 10 because of 2-player Road Riot). All on free-play at the 2010 Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin Texas this past weekend. All survived. A bit dusty and beer spilled but cleaned up fine. It was a bit of work on my part for prep, delivery and pickup. The video is of them 45 minutes before gates opened on Friday (11/5). I got to hear 'Weird Al' doing a sound check while I waited for power.

See if you can make out all the games. :)

I would not have wanted to do the hauling on that trip. It was bad enough dragging one cabinet to a Halloween maze. It was worth the effort as I watched teenage kids go apeshit over Pac-Man.

Kudos to you for sharing your games with others. Hopefully the beer won't be an issue for you.

How was the sound check? Wierd Al's band is incredible, and that was honestly one of the best concerts I have been to.

I see:

Road Riot 4WD
Gauntlet
Centipede
Burgertime
Galaga
Toobin

Could not make out the others :(

also..

* Power Drift (u/r)

* can't make out what the two dudes are playing, too much glare.

* is that a Beastorizer in a virtua fighter cab, i think?

I guess the white papers on the marquees are for sale signs?

The cab the guys are playing is a Sega STV with Die Hard installed. It is a Konami cabinet as I recall - a big cabinet. I am not sure what it was originally.

That is a VF cab with Soul Calibur.

The white papers were for shameless self promotion - had contact info and buy/sell/trade info. :)

The beer cleaned up with no problem. :)

Soundcheck was great. Had I not had plans already, I would of stayed for his show.

I had a pass for the festival but decided I couldn't come down to it because if some machine had been damaged somehow it would have ruined my weekend. I decided it would be better not to know until pickup day.

I would have liked to see them getting played - that is really cool to see.

Just before I left the festival grounds Friday (before gates had opened for the public), one of the women playing the RR in the video had stopped by and exclaimed " Toobin'! " like she hadn't seen the game in forever. She then asked if they took quarters and I said the were on free-play. She ran off and a few minutes later came back with her friend - that made it worth my dragging those down to the festival.

I talked to several people that said 'Weird Al' played for over 2 hours. That would have been a great show to see.

Feedback from the festival organizer was the games were a big hit and they want to have games next year.
