I just got my hands on a fully functional Centipede Cabaret but its trackball isn't the best(it is playable, but could be a lot better). What would be the best trackball replacement?(I don't mind spending a bit extra for a really solid trackball.)

Also... Can you swap out the Centipede board for a Millipede board?

Thanks for the help,

-Sean

I'm not sure if it is rolling rough, or if it doesn't work right. It seems to slip when I'm trying to move diagonally, not every time, but enough to be annoying. Will any of the Happ trackballs fit into a Centipede Cabaret control panel and work with the Centipede board?

And thanks for the Millipede conversion tip. Will it use the same power supply as Centipede's?

Thanks for the help

What you want are 2 1/4" trackball replacement rollers and bearings. Arcadeshop sells those as well. Not a bad idea to get a 2 1/4" ball replacement too.

Sounds good, I think I'm going to pick up a new bearing set for sure. Which is nice because it's lot cheaper than a new Happ. As for the ball, how can I tell if I need a new one? And how will a new ball differ from an old one? That millipede/centipede-in-one kit sounds pretty good, and not too expensive, thanks for the tip. Now time to find a millipede board.....

Thanks for the help,

I think it's a personal preference. The TB should roll fine unless it's really chewed up. Buying new rollers and bearings and not the trackball is kinda like buying a Sea World ticket and then not going on Kraken. *shrug*

I've got 100% tested/working Millipede boards $75 + shipping.

Do you have any Millipede boards with the multipede kit installed?

-Sean

No, but I could order one and install it for you. Actually they're not that tough to install, but if you let me do it I will replace the CPU socket @ C2 with a machine pin socket for added reliability. No $$ markup on the kit or anything. PM me offline and we can talk about it.
