Hi Gang,

I don't have pictures (right now), but I recently received what appears to look identical to a WG 4900 chassis, but has a CR-31 adapter on it. I've had a ton of WG chassis, but none with a CR-31 and was hoping someone might help me to identify what model it is. As well, what would the vert/horiz reading be for a compatible yoke?

Thanks!
John

if its the 13inch version (K4800) then the heat sink on the transistors is smaller and also the k4800 has the two white ceramic resister in the corner are both horizontal mount unlike the k4900 which has one horizontal and one vertical mount. at least they would be that way from the factory.

thanks, I'll check for that when I get home

You were dead on - the resistors on one were both horizontal, and on the 4900, one was vertical and one horizontal. You solved it, it's a 13" 4800.

great, if you need parts or cap kits ever i have them in stock on my site.

I sent him those 4900's...which i thought they both were 4900's....I am going to send him a 4900 chassis....but after reading all of the posts I am confused on something and hopefully you guys/gals can clear it up

Its posted that if both of the ceramic resistors are horizontal, that means its a 4800 13".....I have two chassis here...one a stand alone by itself and one in a complete chassis tube set up...

The stand alone has a white tag on it (which i didn't put there...it was put on it by the previous owner of the lot of chassis and monitors I purchased..and on the tag it says WG19K4953...BUT I just did a web search for a 19k4953 and it seems it doesn't exist (online anyway)......so maybe the previous owner didn't know what he was looking at???? (I did not test the chassis)

and on the chassis/tube set up I have there is a white tag on it stating "working 10-7-2009" it is a 19" monitor and it has a chassis with the two ceramics in horizontal position...(I did not test this chassis/tube set up)

so can that chassis be used for a 19" set up???

no a 13" 4800 cannot be used on a 19" tube.

post pics of your chassis you have a question on.

Peace
Buffett

There are only a small number of references on the forum for k4953.... I did a short search and found the only reference to a manual for it here: http://www.schoenke.com/tyler/sinistar/manuals.html

Wells-Gardner K4900 Series Monitor Manual (K4901/02/03/04/06/11/51/52/53/56/56R/61)

But.... as luck would have it, the site that hosted this manual isn't there anymore... it appears that it might be included in revision B (of the 4900 manual).

I'll have to look through my stack to see if I have anything on it.

Thanks!
