I have 2 taito type x2 PCs that supposedly had bad video cards, I ordered 1 7900gs nvidia video card to test in one and now it does go through the first bios boot up then to a blue screen with a cursor then to a white screen that says its the loader , switches to another white screen that says " taito type x2 " then back to the blue cursor screen it blinks a couple times then Starts all over.
I have read all over the Internet for help, it says check the dip switches and the only dip switches are on the back of the PCI card that connects to the jamma I/o and dip 4 is off like they suggest and I have a monitor plugged directly into the video card.

the only thing I can think is that they say the video card bios matches the motherboard and that you need to flash the 7900gs with the Elsa 979 bios, both same cards but the Elsa is just Japan's version, other threads say the nvidia 7900gs should work fine just plug it in, can anyone confirm this ? please help I would love to get these going, and yes I have working drives and usb dongles. I get no errors at all either

Thank you

Elsa 979 and 7900gs are same hardware w/ different (region) bios.

X2 only has embedded drivers for an ELSA bios card on the hard drive.

Solved the problem, asked the original owner and he said the same thing you did about needing the original video cards , but in my case 1 was a 7900gs and one was an Elsa 979, the 7900gs has the Elsa update, not wanting to buy anymore video cards I just carefully reflowed the gpu's on both original cards hooked up a jvs and now both pc's are working great.

It's weird because on the PC case it has the hardware specs and it says 7900gs on both so figured if I bought another 7900 it should work, wondering if their is a way to install the drivers for a newer card?
I need to learn how to update the bios or firmware on 7900gs video cards to the Elsa Galadic 979.
