K7000 19"
- Replaced all e-caps
- new flyback
- Tested this chassis on a different tube and yoke...same issue
- Tested all pots

Symptom: Jumpy screen and wiggly lines

Outside of the upside down picture and purity issues (I'll fix those later), what could be causing this?

Replied to you on facebook, but the filter cap on the chassis or the power supply powering it if it has bad filter caps will do the same thing. Also a b+ way out of tolerance.

Check simple things anything to do with control pad, connection points and reflow them.

Change the battery in your tpg to rule it out. Mine can do 'squiggly' sync things when the battery is getting low, but still working.
Yep seen exact same thing before and forgot about that too, very good point lol. Always the simple things first.

Replaced the battery. 9.1vdc
B+ reads 119.
I did double check all the components around the power supply, including the filter cap and the Voltage regulator.
Checked all the components around the oscillating circuit.
Swapped out IC1 and IC2

I worked on a TV several months ago with something similar. Turned out to be the flyback....I'm trying that next. After that....

I've narrowed it down to either a flyback, neckboard socket, or neck board.
The flyback I had in there was brand new and assumed it was fine, but when I swapped it out with a neckboard and flyback (older one with the white knobs) I had in inventory, I have no more jumpiness or wiggly lines. I'm going to change back one item at a time until the problem comes back, but betting on a DOA flyback.

SOLVED!

BAD flyback. Unfortunately the malfunctioning flyback was new out of the box and I made the assumption that it couldn't be the problem,..lesson learned. Also, my normal flyback testing procedures (HV probe, HR Diemen flyback tester, and ring tester) did not catch this type of issue.

Now unto fixing the purity issues (this is the easy part).

Thanks for all the responses! Hope this helps someone else down the road
