I normally hate seeing our forums clogged up with this shit but I'm soooo tired of my local CL and I need to vent.

"have been trying to keep this arcade but my wife wants it gone since we are moving to LA soon that is why the price is already so low for this very rare machine."

I sooo want to send him a picture of my MINTY Red Donkey Kong and tell him "THIS is rare - not yours.
Even mine wouldn;t fetch that kind of money."

You fucking tool. Go to LA - good riddance.

His wife wants it gone but it is in a Theater and next to an ATM machine and obviously NOT in his house? I don't get it. :)

If he can get that money for it than more power to him. It just makes my machines worth more. Use it to your advantage by posting a game for sale half that price, it will make yours look more tempting.

Very simple. Guy is 3rd party selling. He has a deal with the theater/owner for a specific amount so now he's upselling on CL. All he has to do is just show up and take the money when new buyer purchases it. Then the 3rd party sellers keeps his portion and gives the agreeable amount to the original owner.

Done in real estate all the time.

Deadly,
I say we all put out Donkey Kongs on CL at the same time. Just to show that guy how "rare" his is.
I think it would be hillarious if 20 DK's showed up on Portland CL at once:)

Yeah Deadly I totally saw that posted just a little bit ago. Pathetic!

Reminds me of the dude trying to sell the Mario Bros cab which had been cut in half for $400.

Some people have no clue what their stuff is worth and some people are just on crack.

At least he's telling the world up front he's not interested in lowering the price. Maybe he thinks he'll start a bidding war for his rare DK. - Barry

maybe he set the price too high on purpose so it wont sell. maybe he bought it for that much and his wife expects him to sell it for the same price to help pay for moving expenses.

my best guess is 3rd party selling is right. chances are the theater told him they would sell it for xxx dollar amount so he is trying to sell it on craigslist and pocket the difference. nothing unusual about that.
