One of the tires on my dolly refuses to hold air, so I need to replace it. I was thinking of getting solid tires since I do use it in the yard occasionally and get goat heads. Is there any downside that I should know about with solid rubber tires vs air tires when moving around heavy arcade cabinets?

Only pluses for solid tires in my experience. Much less bounce and variables in general.

Far less forgiving on smaller bumps for sure. Sizable cracks in the sidewalk, these really awful little sidewalk bumps, etc.

There is probably corrosion where the rim meets the tire. Break the tire loose, wire brush as best you can and then apply silicone caulk on that bead area and refill with air. Did this on my fertilizer spreader and it's been holding air for 2+ years now.

What's a goat head?????

I agree it's either dry rotted sidewalk or bad bead surface.

Pneumatic wheels are the only way to go imo. Clean it up like @KazooBR saya and I bet you're off pulling games in no time.

Solid tires are a must. After dumping a game from under inflated tires I switched and never had an issue since.
I guess I should preface my "pneumatic only" comment with the fact that I have scuba tanks around me every day so I always top up before moving. So I agree, low is shit. But pumped up corrrctly pneumatic are still way easier than solid imo, especially when pulling up stairs.

I think you should clarify your definition of solid tires.
I've had solid tires which are like larger roller skate wheels.
Then my magliner has an airless tire that is still rubber, still has a little cushion and can never go flat.
Then my powered hand cart has real air filled tires.
I would take the ones on the magliner, every time.
Not sure if this is my wheel, the handtruck is in my shed, but it's this wheel in one of the available widths.

I guess it's a regional thing, but these things are all over Southern California.

Basically like organic caltrops lol. If I walk in my backyard during the summer, I'll have to pull like 20 of them out of my shoe to go inside.
I already know that the tire has a couple holes in it that leak despite trying to fix them with super glue.

Can someone help me out in finding replacement tires for my appliance dolly? Came with plastic wheels, great for moving around my garage but gonna scratch the shit out of my floors inside.

Axle is 1/2", diameter must be 6", the current wheels are 2.5-3" wide but that could be flexible. I really don't care if I have to fill them or not, just want something rubber so it'll have some give

My local Harbor Freight actually carries a decent array of dolly-size tires in store. You might be able to walk in and find something that works.
