I have been working on reducing my inventory and as a result, I have two cabinets for sale.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: SOLD

The first cabinet is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinet which was restored by TNT Amusements about 2 years ago. Since that time, I have started work on refinishing a number of additional Turtles cabinets I have acquired – and thus, this one is now for sale. Please note – this cabinet does not have the remastered side-art I recently posted on KLOV. It has new aftermarket side-art which was available 2 years ago.

Here is a link to the TNT video regarding the cabinet which is in the exact same shape today (except I changed the marquee to be a reverse mounted one I recently had redone):

The Simpsons: SOLD

The second is a Simpsons cabinet which was originally refurbished by Szabo's arcades and was purchased/traded from through this thread on KLOV:

Similar to the TMNT cabinet, I am looking to part with this cabinet as I have since started restoring a number of Simpsons cabinets. The quality of the restoration work done by Szabo is excellent and he used his heavy textured laminate material on the entire cabinet – making it almost totally scratch resistant. It is an amazing cabinet. The cabinet has the original WG 7500 monitor with zero burn-in.

The prices for each cabinet are as follows:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: SOLD
Simpsons: $2,000 (price lowered by $200)

The buyer must make their own arrangements for shipping; however I will blanket-wrap and corner protect both units at no additional cost.

Payment is required within 24 hours of agreement to purchase via a PayPal payment for the purchase of "Goods and Services". I will pay the 3 percent PayPal fee.

The first KLOV member who sends an unconditional commitment to purchase (I am not interested in any trades at this time – trying to thin out my inventory, an annual ritual for most of us) will be contacted with my PayPal information. Please do not make offers in the thread as I am likely to not see them.

Thanks for looking – D44

Bump - Note TMNT is sold to a great new home.

Lowered price by $200 on the Restored Simpsons cabinet to $2,000.

Thanks - D44

Good question regarding the Lexan.

The CPO overlay is printed on a super heavy duty textured polycarbinate laminate which is entirely scratch resistant (looks great - but they actually put this stuff down on store floors). It costs more than a lexan cover to use this material but on a flat control panel like this - the textured poly is the way to go.

Personally, I do not care for the look of lexan on a control panel as there is often air bubbles under and inconsistencies under it. I avoid it when ever possible. I have purchased many, many restored cabinets and I find that some restoration shops use lexan to cover paper thin CPOs. Unfortunately, this is most often the case. NOS overlays are thick and durable, many reprints are paper thin. Not trying to be defensive, just stating a fact.

For me, overall, Lexan reminds me of when my Grandma would put plastic covers over her furniture - it never looks right. Just my opinion.

I don't think so as those games all have the large carriage bolts holding down the joysticks.

That said, I wouldn't rule it out. I just know that for my original cabinets that had an acrylic cover (that is what it is - clear 1/4 inch acrylic) they were all obviously after market. They add unnecessary screws to the control panel and just look bad (more often than not). I don't think the Konami cabinets had the acrylic but I think the Midway (NBA Jam/Mortal Kombat type did).

It's personal preference. I will take some quality polycarbonite material that won't wear-out over a 1/4 inch piece of $50 acrylic any day of the week.

Just was wondering. I'm not questioning your choice :)
