Sold my Tron and now look what happened

One good turn deserves another i guess and it looks like another one decided to tag along

Nice. Going to give this one the restoration treatment like the last? Did you pay the "hyped" up price for it?

If i would have had to pay a hyped up price, i wouldn't have bought it. There's actually another game too, but that one's getting scrapped so it's not worth mentioning. In fact, it's likely the working punch out won't survive long as a whole either.

lol, and this comes after posting a thread about if this game is over hyped. Nice. Have fun with this venture, again. :)

You ain't gotta lie to kick it.

Won't be jumping on the bandwagon to restore this for a flip.

Look, you did well on one and another falls into your lap. With the current state of all the Disney fanboys throwing their money into the garbage, you'd be a fool to not take advantage of them one more time. You practically said it yourself that the game is a turd and only neat because it looks pretty, why keep it around when it's bad and only going to decrease in value? Looks pretty cut and dry to me - Polish, shine, PROFIT!

I only wish my refurb luck was as good as yours, excellent scores.

Is it confirmed that people are paying out the ass for this game now or is it just a few lucky gougers there? The game is alright, the cabinet is epic and probably in the top 5 most recognizable of all time. Seems like a good cornerstone piece in any collection.

the only thing is, is that with the amount of time and effort chris puts into a resto, i'd doubt the game would be done within sufficient time of the movie coming out for him to get another $2200.

Agreed, this game isn't one you can restore even remotely quick. The art removal alone is a huge pain. At this point, ebay will be flooded with so many Trons that the competition will drive the price back down. The movie may be new and exciting but it's still a game that will not catch on with the younger group. The gameplay is too slow and the desire to text and play XBOX will bring things back down quickly.

I don't know about that. Look at what the tron dvd's are going for.... it's insane & there's a ton of those. There's still only a handfull of trons on ebay. I think the tron's that are in nice shape like yours (or close to it) will demand the higher coin. There was a crappy tron that just sold for over $900 so even the ugly one's are getting love. When the movie comes out I think selling anything tron will get the highest amount of coin. It will be a revival of anything that's classic or old school tron merchandise, games, etc...
