Thought I would share, the guy has killer toys in his mancave. Did not know who it was until I delivered it. I wish it was a dedicated and not a conversion, but he saw the pics and liked it. I hear its his favorite game. Hope he is happy with it.

Who knows, you might see it blow up in a future episode..

Not a big deal if they kill it as its a kit. Maybe they can do some myths about video games. I offered to find a dedicated for him if he wants. I probably should not say who it was, but its 1 of the 4.

It had to have been one of the 2 older guys, the other ones are too young. Was that the Arabian conversion?

yes, it was the arabian conversion on CL. I had rebuilt the g07 monitor and trackball so it should be good to go.

As for who, the 2 "younger guys" are 42+. I am only 6 years older than them and I started collecting arcades when I was around 19. Hell, I once sold a spyhunter to a guy who was maybe 20 and this was like 5 years ago (so born around 1986) It was his favorite game. He played it in some street location when he was a kid. He later came back and got a 2nd game and it was another classic(I think it was a pacman).

Wow, I stand corrected! I thought they were youngsters, they're both older than I am. In that case, I change my guess, I bet it was one of the younger ones.

I like classics and I was born in 1986. I also like fighters too, as arcades were a mix when I was going to them in the late 90s.

I 2nd that. I'm also in my 20s. When everyone was playing TMNT, X-Men, and Street Fighter, I was still stuck on Galaga. And I played my NES far past the N64 launch date. You just never know...

Neat story! I can see those guys being into Millipede

I don't think I've ever even seen a conversion millipede...why would anyone want one?

I agree, the dedicated millipede a better cab. Other than I hate the shape of it, CC, and tempest, the dedicated cabs are really nice. I was going to 60 in 1 it, but I have been too busy. I sent them a link to the brazington multi kit. If I had a millipede, I would want it to play both.

Adam just posted that he needs a 2012A RAM chip. Something up with that board already?

Did not see his post. Maybe on his site? Yeah, its pretty strange that failed. It was burned in for a few days. He called me and I suggested reseating the chips. I think the that made the 6502 fail. It was throwing numbers up like the matrix.

So I drove up and swapped the board. He was going to a party so I did not even mess with the board in cab. Voltages were spot on. 2nd board worked fine. I will mess with it at home.

I told him not to mythbusters it and he said its not going anywhere. I offered to find him a dedicated, but he is happy with it. He was cool. We talked about some of his toys and he gave me a mythbusters tour hat.

Awesome story -- I see Adam in my hood a lot in SF. Why Millipede of all games? Also I know he's film replica obsessed so it's funny he went for a conversion.

The price was pretty fair to begin with and they had no problem with it. I think the deal maker was getting it for the party on sunday. He said he had been looking for one for a while. Cab was nice other than it being a conversion(Less than 10k plays on it, not drilled and no water damage). I really don't think he knew about there being dedicated or conversion cabs. I told him the main difference was that the dedicated had art on the front. He just wanted to get something that worked good. Like I said, I offered to find him a dedicated, but he said he was happy with it.

Millipede is his favorite game. He told me about setting high score back in the day on the local machine. He asked about multi games I told him 60 in 1 was junk for millipede(maybe 95% accurate). He asked about mame, I told him it was the better way to go . I think for now he is just happy with millipede. I would bet he will get the multi kit. He said he used to have either an orbit, orbitor 1, or embryon pin a long time ago. I told him how crazy pin prices are now.

Yeah, he does like his replica props. Very cool stuff. I told him I was surprised he did not have more toys. He said he had to be very selective in what he collected.

Classy move on your part. Even though it came out who it was, I still think you were professional and ethical not to just blab out the name. Good job.
