FB - 3rd Party SOLD $80 Space Invaders Athens, GA RUN YOU FOOLS

Listing says "make an offer" which probably means it's not $80... I've seen that a lot lately, including incomplete rotting cabinets listed for free, and when I message the seller saying I'll take it and want to arrange pickup, they tell me "you know it's not free?" despite nothing in the listing indicating they're looking for offers.

There is a $395 in SI in the metro area. Been listed for months.

My wife and I had a discussion about this "make me an offer" mentality. I used to just avoid those scenarios completely, bc everyone has a number in mind. She told me that she's always surprised when I "lowball" people in that scenario. I told her it's not because I'm being cheap- it's all about the reaction that you get. AKA they say "make an offer" and you say, "OK, how's x?" They immediately react with DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS WORTH??!! I GOTTA AT LEAST GET Y FOR IT!! Suddenly, you have their target number :)

If I see a game that interests me selling for $Y, but I'm only have $X to spend on it, I'll very politely let the seller know that I am interested but my budget is $X should they decide to sell for that. If it sells for their ask, I am happy they got their ask. If not, they have a plan B in their back pocket.

Bottom line: Do unto others...
