Hi;
I am troubleshooting a my newest addition, a nice Solar Quest and now have the game playing but the display is jammed up.
There is garbled stuff up the display and off to the top. I think it might be a monitor issue but would like to verify before I start swapping DACs etc.
I have spare Cine monitors but they do not have the 64 level intensity daughter board.
I know the CCPU is strapped for the variable intensity but would it be OK for me to temporarily hook up a standard Cine monitor just to test, without damaging anything??
I searched the forums but could not find another similar situation.
Thanks in advance
Jeff

There is a jumper wire on the CPU board that you can move to select what kind of monitor you have. You have to desolder it and solder it to the new position. It's been a while but I think it is right below the monitor ribbon cable connector on the CPU board.

Yea, that was the strapping I was referring to.
I was hoping that I could just bring over a known good working monitor and hook it up just to prove the board-set, or at the least, take the monitor out of the equation.
Thanks
Jeff

Have you checked that you don't have one of the monitor cables twisted? The mounting of the intensity board makes it very easy to do.

NICE!
I replaced the LF13331 (again) and the display was better but not perfect.....
I swapped DACs' with no improvement.
I pulled a new LF13331 out of my stash and BAM - I got game.
So the original one in the game was completely bad and the one I replaced it with was not-as-bad and finally replaced it with my private supply and that one did it....
YEA!

That was my last LF13331 - Does anyone have a connection for these??
