Here's a new one for me... I just got my coin acceptor rebuilt for a soda machine. All worked well when I hooked it up, so I left the machine plugged in and ate some food. I came back an hour later to test it once more and when I put a nickel in the acceptor, I got shocked.

If I touch anywhere around the coin slot where there is exposed metal, it will send a pretty good shock.

Any ideas?

Is the ground prong chopped off the machine power cord? Are all frame ground wires in the machine connected properly and clean?

How about your wall outlet? Is the ground good?

is it

is it only around the coin slot?. Or other parts too?
this machine NOT shock before the coin accept rebuild?

+1 on the open ground. Put a meter on the chassis. I've seen 60-70V (1/2 of 120V) a few times on the chassis when the power supply was left with an open ground. Not sure why, but that's what I observed.
