I was thinking of adding, to VAPS profiles and/or to Forum Public Profiles, the option for users to list links to their social network pages (ie: http://www.linkedin.com/in/mclemore).

How interesting a feature does this sound to people?

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google +1...

What about Pinterest, and MySpace?

Please do not clutter up my profile with that crap. If you must insist then at least have the decency to provide an option not to display it.

If you don't enter any info, none will be shown.

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/member.php?u=5 -- I don't have xBox or Playstation fields entered.

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/member.php?u=55647 -- Has an xBox id.

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/member.php?u=57838 on the other hand, has nothing but xBox and Playstation fields entered.

LinkedIn, for example, would be the same way. If you don't enter anything, it wouldn't show.

Also, none of these things would appear on individual posts...

Awesome. If only the rest of the web would follow your lead on this. This is the right way to implement new features, IMO.

great!

I stared a post awhile back about networking. It didn't gain much traction. I think being able to find some business connections though our mutual hobby is great.

Feedback has been light, so I'll move this to the bottom of the 'to do' list as there are much greater priorities.

Since I'm not adding those features now, I did just quickly add Facebook and LinkedIn buttons on the editing screen as a test to see if anyone notices and cares. I also just added a linkedin button to my signature to test it. That's about it for now.
