There has been long (though not recent) discussion on the subject (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=224365 ) but in short, "Social Groups" will very soon be deleted and removed from the site entirely, and for technical reasons the content within will not be moved or archived and will entirely be deleted.

If you want anything in these sections, please grab them now.

Social Groups are a vBulletin anomaly that never took off here (or just about anywhere else). We used it for geopgraphic sections (ie: New York collections group, Southern Caifornia group, etc.

Many of you probably never noticed it.

To get to it, go to the menu bar, select 'Community', and then 'Social Groups'.

While it had a few new aspects, it was IMO fatally flawed.

It's already been replaced by the Geographic Forum Sections.

yeah big time fail. last posts/updates in those social group sections were in 2012 it seems...

until you posted this, i never knew they existed! :)

Yes, social groups were a fail, but 2012 isn't exactly accurate.

5 of them have posts from 2016 (only Norcol is older...2013).

The real problem was that you could not see the thread updates without going to the social group page. So once you did the state based forums, the social groups were not needed. Thanks for trying them, we used the Texas one a decent amount before the Texas forum showed up. If anything I think it proved the forums now becoming the regional forums were needed.
