Hello SoCal Klov folks,

Well, I finally got to the point of overflow, so some sales must occur; and honestly for me- the enjoyment has become restoring these things and bringing them back to life. Fixing a monitor, a board, touching up a cabinet, or in the case of my DK or Robotron, practically bringing it back from a shell.

I've been testing the market a little on clist in the SoCal area with some of my restores under the banner of 'Retro Game Gallery'. The prices on there reflect a more mid-range retail as opposed to Klov prices, but I have had some interest from klov guys, so while my straight cash prices might remain kinda up there for now on certain machines, I'm certainly open to trades in the way of project machines or machines you don't want anymore to make the prices more reasonable.

I'm also going to start taking on repair and restoration projects. Monitors, some boards, rewiring, some cabinet work etc. *IF* there is any desire or need for it by this local community, my guess was that KLOV guys were more of a do-it-yourself kinda crowd, but I figure I'd throw it out there. I can offer pickup of your machines, bring them straight to my workshop, and if necessary, prep for shipping.

Because I'm relatively new to the repair end of things, I won't be charging the high-end hourly repair fees right now that I seem to get when I have called for service. That's what made me want to learn how to fix my own in the first place! So look for reasonable repair rates- if you're willing to be a little patient when the first repair doesn't fix it all- although my "professional" service guys often took 3or4 tries themselves, heheh. Look for complete open honesty in all dealings- I'm doing this because I enjoy it, and I have the time right now, not because I'm looking to make a fortune.

I'll throw some games up here when I think I can sell them off at KLOV prices or on trades I get before I start the restores, if anyone wants to do their own. But I'm hoping to appeal more to the repair and restoring for busy Klov'rs, who can't get to it as quickly as they'd like.

Feel free to pm me if you are interested in a trade or repair (my sig has all my current machines) and I'll update this post with news on restores that aren't my own.

Galaxian $200

Received a few replies yesterday, Thank You.

In line with what I had said, when I can- before I dig too much into it, I'm offering this fine working Galaxian that has been bouncing around here lately. Walkamo offered the same machine on here a few weeks back, and I picked it up in a trade the other day.

I just removed the layer of black paint from the front to reveal the kickplate art, and that will obviously need some touching up. But before I do anything else- $200 - if anyone wants this machine right now. Thanks!

Weekend Repairs

Hey KLOV, thanks for all the responses!

Performed a monitor replacement and stripped, rewired, and applied art to a control panel for folks this weekend. Have a cap kit in the shop, and a couple more machines to look at this week. wow.

Really glad and somewhat surprised by the response. I know my rates are incredibly good right now, but I want to keep this service for the hobbyists and collectors. I really enjoy helping the guys out who just love their games. If I get too busy I may have to raise things, or change it around a bit- but no plans to do that yet.

And as for the Galaxian- if it's still listed here, it's still avail and $200 to any Klov member.

Hey there. Would you happen to have the wiring for a centipede that goes between the ar2 and the main board? I need that as the final piece of my centipede deconversion.

Edit: Nevermind. Upon further inspection, I discovered that I am a dumbass, and neglected to notice the ar2 that was still in the cab, and what I thought should have been the ar2 connection on the main board, is in fact, a factory tester connector >_<. Depending on your rates, I may be interested in your services though to help with a monitor on another cabinet. It is supposed to be working, but I just can't seem to hook it up right.
