buying something from someone on here not being as happy with the condition of the item as you had hoped to be but you keep your mouth shut because you dont want to stir shit up. then listing the item on ebay for a fair price( months later) and getting bitched at by the original seller and someone who is obviously their friend for not being happy with the item. you can shove off bro I never bitched and didnt out you I just said in my ebay ad I was not happy with the condition when i received it. get the hell over it. if you want to create an asshat full of drama reply I dont give a hoot.

Does anyone else get the feeling that the arcade community is way too small and mainly made up of a bunch of fucking silly, petty nutjobs? Oh, hey Taylor. Hope to see you out at CAX next year my man.

Yes!

Sadly talking with MANY people from here, it seems its just gotten petty and way to much BS, people are forgetting to basics of here to help each other and offering help advice and parts here n there.

It just seems lately more and more deals gone south, or people not following through on both ends.. I dunno man I would love to see this all get back into the hobby and supporting each other instead of trying to broke back mountain each other.

I'm new to these parts, but I'm just saying can't people act civilized.

If the seller doesn't pack the product properly and it gets damaged in shipping, it is the seller's fault.
If the seller packs the product reasonably well and gets damaged in shipping, it is the post office fault.

If the seller isn't open to communication, just sent insults as reply or otherwise just lies through their teeth, others should know before they have to deal with him/her.

Why should the seller even care? He got paid for it. Whatever happens to the item in the future shouldnt concern him.

I think for some guys, it's like... if you dated this one girl, but you've been broke up with her for a long time - still - none of your friends are supposed to date her. Well, some go by that.

Even with this sort of drama, I have to say that this community is way better than most. Maybe they thought you were trying to flip the item or something? I don't know, I'm just speculating. I could see feeling kind of slighted if I cut someone a really good break on something because I was tryingn to do a solid for a fellow collector and then that person turned around an put it on eBay for a higher price. That's obviously not the case here.

Why bring Phet's favorite movie into this?:p
I heard Taylor talking about this at CAX and the item in question wasn't in the condition it was supposed to be when he made the deal.

...and now everyone wants to know who it is!

Good on you for trying to keep it on the DL, but the seller's attitude seems disappointing.

Yeah, people are strange. I've had people buy something from me, ask me to drop the price because they don't have a lot of money, I decide to make them a deal, and then a few weeks later when they determine they no longer need it, they list it higher than what I had originally - and get upset if you say anything about it...

i had one of our more "infamous retailers" PM for 2 tron cabs last week. I emailed the paypal information and total we had discussed on the phone, and here it is monday night and they have failed to pay. they did this to me earlier in the year, or late last year on a 12 cabinet order.

Well said. Too much drama for an enthusiast forum. At least it's only a few members who consistently stir the shit cauldron and make it hostile, and unpleasant for everyone. This is a forum to ask questions, get answers, network fellow enthusiasts, and buy/sell. That's it.

lol.............................

sorry i had to post this somewhere.. feel free to spread it to other posts that deserve it :D

You know what it REALLY is? We're all getting older and more crotchety. Soon we'll all be standing on the front porch in black crew socks, sandals, plaid shorts and a straw fedora (which I already have) and unbuttoned dress shirt with a wife-beater T underneath yelling at kids to get off our lawn.

Nobody has any patience anymore, and the hobby is getting more cutthroat because games are getting more and more rare exponentially due to MAME, multi's and just degradation.

Go try to buy a 1957 Chevy that has been restored and dicker the price with the owner, and you'll see where we will be in 20-30 years. Cars have rust, and we have particle board swelling:rolleyes:.

Man, that bloke, and possibly his friend, have a problem; don't trouble yourself over it. Because once you bought the item, it is none of his, or anybody elses, bloody business what you do with it.

Everybody always wants to blame the post office. If your selling stuff you are responsible to get it to the buyer in the stated condition in most all cases if the seller is offering shipping and using a shipper of their choice. How many times have we heard somebody here use the term "my shipper" and then when it arrives damaged they give you "take it up with the shipping company"?
