Correct me if Im worng I thought KLOV had other hacks listed
and this is the only one I can think of with its own dedicated art package :D

It also maybe the only hack reconized as an official game to except High Score records from Twin Galaxies

So what up with dat??

They should have a system where the freakin USERS add/edit the info... sheesh...

The ability of users to add game information and images is why the KLOV lists games that don't exist, has inaccurate descriptions and cabinet images that are conversions.

I wonder if users editing that data would improve the situation or make it worse...

I emailed Twin Galaxies a couple of years ago with a questioning of there Jr. Pac-man Turbo for mame scores.

I asked them, what "rom" they were using to and how did they get these scores if the rom wasn't available. So then I get a response of how it was a Rom Hack(no shit) and that they were no longer accepting scores for it.

I told them that it was their decision to pull it, but again I asked what ROM or Hacked Rom did Robert T Mruczek and Domenic Zenato use to get these scores. As I know the name of the rom is listed in the title, but I couldn't find it to save my life. I then asked them, why they could allow Turbo Mrs. Pac and Turbo Pac but not a Turbo Jr. Pac?? No answer.

They couldn't even tell me the file name those guys used. And I have yet to find a Turbo version of Jr. Pac. for mame. (except on the 60 in 1's).

So after all that, they end up editing the database with this excuse......

Mickey Mouse operation....that's why I don't check out TG's site. When it comes to scores,it seems like it's more of a honor system that anything.F that!

Like I need to try to prove myself to a bunch of people I will never see nor care about by wasting countless hours trying to attain a score in which the reward is.......having my name posted up on a website?
Woo hoo....I could do the same thing on youtube, facebook,or myspace.

Because the KLOV administrators and owners are way more concerned about putting up forums for totally unrelated stuff and changing people's id names than updating the KLOV DB itself.

If you think I'm just complaining, I'm not. I'm stating facts. Read the forum news and admin topics forums. Threads related to KLOV DB updates versus threads for anything else are a ratio of about 1 to 99.

Boy you guys sure like to pile on TG at any chance ;) The reason they had scores for Jr Pac turbo in MAME was because the older version didn't use a specific ROM for turbo. It was a hack within MAME and set via the dipswitch menu. At some point, the MAMEdev team changed that so it only used the actual ROM for the turbo version. The version they currently require for MAME submissions was after this change was made. Now that doesn't explain why Jr Pac turbo doesn't exist in MAME today, but that's not TG's fault. I know a ROM exists out there, because I've played a couple machines with it. TG does track it on the arcade platform.

Kind of the same reason why Ice Cold Beer and Zeeks Peek isn't on the VAPS list... No reason... Just don't want too...

I too have run across a dedicated Jr. Pac-Man Turbo cab in the wild (a cocktail no less), so its current omission by the MAME devs is a mistake in my opinion. While Jr. Pac-Man Turbo is not in MAME proper it is in MiSFiTMAME. It's called "Jr. Pac-Man Speed [f]" and the ROM name is jrspeed, so there is a dedicated MAME ROM for it. I wish the MAME devs would add it back. :(

Cool, I did not know that. I haven't seen it in the normal mame Rom updates, so I'll have to find it elsewhere. Unless someone has it and can send it. That would be great!

Another other option to play it would be to download an older version of MAME when it still had the speed cheat dipswitch setting. Many older versions of MAME are available at MARP (replay.marpirc.net). I know WolfMAME 78 had it (that's the version I use when I feel like playing turbo Jr)
