So who's going to TRON tommorow???

Who here thinks it will live up to the original? I just keep picturing it using to much CG. Is it being done in 3-D? Thats probably a dumb question lol

i'm not going to see it and expect it to hold up to the first one. i'm going there to see a (hopefully, expectingly) good sequel made for the fans.

For a second I thought it was a pre-screen of the whole movie...

Is there a URL? How did you guys hear about this?

I have a ticket, but after reading the fine print that I need to be in line at least an hour before the thing starts, I think I'm going to skip it. I hope I'm not missing out on any cool swag though.

I still have yet to grasp what the big deal is,I'll be glad when it's over though. I have never been so tired of hearing/reading about a single name in my entire life.

I about peed myself when I saw the light cycle footage they showed at Comic Con in 2008- I still have it on my computer. I'm a motorcycle rider, and TRON is one of the things that got me into bikes.

I'll pay the money just to see the lightcycle scene on the big screen. I'm not going to see what the critics are going to rate it at.

Tried calling the local theatre number that appears on the TRON night page, no info on it. Tried the fandango site, no info. This blows.

UPDATE!!! I'm going!!!!

If you don't have a ticket they will have a "loser" j/k no ticket line. So if someone with a ticket doesn't show, they will let someone from the loser line to fill that seat. They will also let people with no ticket in to fill empty seats

I'm seeing it in White Marsh MD and have my confirmation # in-hand. No loser's row for me baby!!!

How can you have "too much" CG in a movie entirely about being sucked into a computer generated world?

It's sorta like saying, "I hope that porno doesn't have too much nudity."

I'm sure the 1982 Tron would have been far more generated if the technology existed to allow for both computer animation and an actor to be in the same scene. Instead they had to hand draw the "computer animation" with an actor. That's why there were so few actual CG scenes.

I told a few coworkers about this event and they just looked at me like I was retarded. I swear the people at this site are the only folks who appreciate what I do :(

I'm not going to this movie trailer event, but I already have my tickets for the Midnight showing on Dec.16 at the IMAX. Anyone else?

I am going over to the theater during lunch in a few minutes to ask if anything is being given away tonight. I'll find out and post back, so if it is something cool, people can be in the know.

my thoughts exactly :)

Please don't spoil it man. I want to be surprised. If you do find out start another thread please

Don't worry, I didn't find out anything really. Manager said that they are providing the venue, but people are coming in to handle the promotion specifically. He thought they were going to be giving stuff away, but he wasn't sure and didn't know what they were giving away, if anything. So don't worry, your surprise will be in tact.

Well, no love for Northern CA (the REAL Nor. Cal, not San Fran) - not even Sacramento, much less Redding. So, I won't be going. Hope to hear all about it tomorrow.
