So who's getting L.A. Noire tommorow!!????

Is this game worth buying, or just a rental? Based on the footage I've seen, it doesn't seem like theres a whole lot of replay, or gameplay at all for that matter.

It depends on what you expect out of it. If you like games that drag on for a good while and are slow paced then it's for you,if you want action look else where. I personally love it,but if you are on the fence rent it first.

I've heard as well that once you've solved the cases, there's little replay value in the game, and the action scenes on their own aren't that great. It's a different game to Red Dead or GT. The meat of the game is the slower paced interviewing and looking for clues. But it's a pretty long game, while it's unfortunately very linear, there should still be around 40 hours gameplay in there for the average gamer, and the acting and writing look to be pretty good.

And it was made in Australia. :D Team Bondi (pronounced "bond-eye", not "bondy" as one reviewer pronounced it) are Sydney based.

So that begs the question - did your an Australian made game get censored in any way? :p

Agreed. Slower action. Don't expect GTA or RD. Fun but low replay value.

Ha! Not yet. The censors are pretty inconsistent. Because we don't have an R18+ rating, many games that are released overseas in that category end up being released here uncensored as MA15+ (sale restricted to 15 and older), so they're available to younger players.

pretty cool game. I had no interest in it what-so-ever until I saw John Noble in it (who I STILL havent encountered, btw), and then I saw the facial expressions. I'm a few hours into it and it's pretty fun. I like the detective work, albeit it's a little repetitive.

Still pretty fun though.

I still can't help but think for all the fancy motion capture and freaky artificial faces, the game could have been done just as well using regular real video of live actors. It looks like a reboot of the FMV CD-ROM game genre that exploded when the CD-ROM platform started out.

Nobody seems to use live action actors in video games anymore...

Sweet. Added it to my download queue, even though I haven't unwrapped the game yet.

I just traded mine in on duke nukem. La noire was fun, but minimal replay value.

I hope you didn't trade to gamestop. They are selling for $40+ on Ebay regularly. Do you like the new nukem? I wasn't impressed at all and felt that it was overhyped. I had a feeling from the beginning it would be weak but didn't want to believe it until I played the game and read the game reviews 5/10,not good.

Yeah, I went to game stop. I've been trying to sell it on CL for $40 for the last week, with no interest. I got $30 at GS, so I'm happy.

I'm really enjoying Duke. Just don't play it expecting a COD clone, because it's not. It's adolescent humor at it's best (similar to KLOV). Can't wait to get home to play some more.

I'm surprised, they like to give $25 or less for recent releases that's the biggest reason I don't deal with them. Now they are gonna mark your game up to $49.99 lol
