So, who needs "BLACK" offset Nintendo Molding?

I re-measured my VS. cabinet. This is correct. All cabinets made for Nintendo VS. (not older conversions) would use this BLACK t-molding. These would be grey uprights both made as single unisystem cabinets or the double dualsystem cabinets.

So, R-Types, Gray single unisystem and double dualsystem cabinets used offset BLACK t-molding?

Are you guys with R-Type's 100% sure they used offset?

Yes, R-Type is offset. I would love it for mine. Id really like this to happen. Thanks!!

We'll we're up to 11 now then.. I will buy one extra set if that helps make this a reality.

Ice Cold Beer art is here and all the orders have shipped so I will refocus on this over the weekend / over next week. I have pricing together. Just need to go over everything a little bit.

I've finally finished with my last project (Ice Cold Beer side art) and going to refocus on this offset molding project this week.

Even though the three cabinets I've measured are all 5/8" I'm being told by several collectors that their cabinets are slightly wider than 5/8... I'll make it a point to remeasure but from the other thread 11/16" might be the better way to go. This would give 1/32" extra on the Right and 1/32" on the Left.

Basically, whatever we do for the white offset molding is what we are going to do with the black molding.

I "WILL" need a sample of the black molding for the finish. However, it will be PVC just like the True-Flat (15mm) and most likely satin finish... But, a sample would be best for the manufacture to know what they are "trying" to accomplish.

I will remeasure again tonight to confirm. I don't think it will be an issue.

Let me know where and I will send sample tmolding that was factory restore on a Nintendo Dualsystem upright.

Put me down for 20ft.

I'm pretty sure my PC10 uses it, should since R-types use it.

Ok. Here are new measurement which are tough because one of my cabs has a slot that is more chewed up than the other. Also these are measurement on the edge of cab and not the center strips which are a little more thicker and more offset (no big deal after application)

Measured both to reconcile

Cab edge thickness = 21/32"
=Exterior Edge=8/32"=Then Slot=10/32"=Interior Edge

Factory installed T Molding strip = 21/32"
=Exterior Edge=7/32"=Then Rib=10/32"=Interior Edge

So pretty spot on.

Let me know if you want me to mail a sample

Any progress update? Do you still need me to send you a sample of the black offset tmolding?

R-Type, VS., and PC10 (single monitor) were all the same cabinet, and all came with black T-molding. I don't know if they were all offset or not. You mentioned an R-Type local to you that has centered T-molding, so maybe offset is something they did intermittently or later/earlier in the production runs.

In my limited experience, all of these particle board cabinets originally had been made with a t-molding slot offset.

I'm just "waiting"... I need totals with shipping so I can issue a check for production. I'll call again today but I've been notified they would be back with me.

I need to contact them to find out if there are any added costs in making it slightly wider (adding 1/32 on the left and 1/32 on the right). Might add some costs seeing it's not an exact copy of what they quoted me (engineering costs and the molding will use more PVC). Then I may need to request samples like I did on the "True-Flat" which will also add costs.

I will need a sample of black but let me verify costs before doing so.

Is the black molding kind of "satin" or more "glossy"?

I'm hoping to send out a check with the matting pieces, another white sample this week... Hoping to get a sample of the offset black molding. Is there anything special about the finish on the black? I figure semigloss / satin black much standard 3/4" black molding.

Am I correct?
