So where's your office Xmas party at this year?

Had one at John's incredible universe. Basically pizza buffet and mainly redemption games. There are maybe 5 vids and two pins. The company covered the free credits. I think I still have a mostly loaded card. There was a shrek pin that would occasionally get the ball stuck. A bunch of people put credits on the game but couldn't get it to work. The game didn't even do the usual where you let it sit and it would do a ball check and eventually be playable. I figured out if you tilted it it would ball check and eventually be playable again. I basically played that for free off all the credits people left on it. Honestly I appreciate that they gave us a party and thanked us for the good work we did during the year. I believe they are also giving us something more as well. Probably a bonus of some kind but not sure. I actually consider myself lucky that I work for people who care about their employees. Sure there are things I bitch about but my employers have been good to me and all of their company's employees.

We've got a Witness on the team, so ours wasn't a Christmas party, but a "themed lunch" with a $25 "end of the year" gift card.

I had one job where the bosses were really nice. They gave us a percentage of the money we had made for them over the course of the year. It usually was about $600 - $700. It was like getting an extra paycheck. Another guy gave me a Dig Dug that didn't work for a bonus one year. Year before that, he gave me $500 and we drank beer and played BK2000, Indiana Jones, and 3 other pins at his house for several hours. Employer after that gave $50 Fred Meyer cards. Then the current guy, hopefully $50 this year but he usually gives things I don't like or can't use.

It was at the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul. Really well done, prizes, free drinks, live music and buffet style food. No games though... :(

No Christmas party here anymore. They cut it out about 2 years ago when we went virtual with the call center in the south. The south never had Christmas parties so now the north doesn't get Christmas parties.

I just get the big FU and get to work on Christmas eve and Christmas day! Yay!

My boss dose not have a party "just come to work and do nothing while getting paid type deal." So i have two arcade machines and three pins already in the main office.

Fidelity luxury box at Gillette Stadium...

Damn near filled up on bacon wrapped scallops, mini beer wellingtons, brie en croute and champagne, so I almost had problems with the filet mignon and crab stuffed shrimp for dinner.

...no games though.

I got a roast beef sandwich, chips and a drink.

Not like the old days, at better employers. One year we had Tom Jones play our party and the food was all first rate.

At least I am employed...for now...

After reading all of this I guess I'm pretty lucky my company is throwing a Christmas party this year! Were having it at the Sonoma chicken coop but no arcade games there.

The company I now work for did an exclusive rental at Six Flags in Arlington for 3 hours yesterday. I didn't go because I have so much crap to do at the moment but from what I gathered a lot of people from the office went.

I still don't see the point. We should all thank our lucky stars that were working.

20+ years of being self employeed has a way of shifting your priorites I guess.

"Witness"? As in... Protection Program, or Jehovah's? :D

But like everyone's been saying, I'm glad my company is still in business, and that they realize what a kickass employee I am...

Ours was on the 9th. We work in New Jersey, and the party was in New York City (in Manhattan).

They provided transportation to and from the club (Merchant's), and to and from the after party if you wanted to go. Left for NYC at 5 pm, got home 4:30 am. (we went to the after party).

Premium open bar, hors d' ouveres, and buffet dinner. DJ and dancing.

From what I can remember, it was a good time :D

It is very nice that they do this for us. Some people complain about the bus ride and how long it takes, but i think if they offer something like this, it is my place to go. Companies don't owe their employees a holiday party. Sorry, it's true. I work hard, and this year I was recognized for that (which suprised me) with a rather large gift card. That's not why I work hard, but it was nice to be appreciated. I apreciate that they have a nice party for us (and our spouses).

$100 Target gift card and a lunch over at Dave & Busters with a $20 game card. Best part?
Open bar tab.
Good times..

Though I should add that it was more of a departmental thing..
IT, HR and accounting.
You know it'd going to be good when the HR director starts things off by ordering a long island :)

had ours inside the Davidson Center at the Space and Rocket Center, under the Saturn V rocket. Was odd having an Xmas party in a museum, but they seem to have built it for that purpose. DJ, door prizes, casino tables, good food. Cash bar was nice.

First year I worked at a fortune 100 it was free booze and Cheap Trick played. Next year free beer and wine only and Siouxie and the Banshees played. Next year just a dj and two drink tickets. Last year, no party.
