For many years now we have either purchased or had cabinets donated to us and I have noticed a trend. There are a lot of cabinets with no back doors and no coin boxes. So, I figure somewhere out in the wild is this huge warehouse filled with nothing but back doors and coin boxes :)

Anyone else regularly notice something missing when you pick up games?

There was a auction at a huge warehouse in Sumter South Carolina a few years ago..and when the auctioneer got to the games that were incomplete ..over to one side there were a few stacks of just back doors. Way more there than the total number of games sold. Most were trashed at the end of the auction though.

I can't speak for the missing back doors, but every warehouse I've been to, the coin boxes are storing parts... Mainly nuts, bolts, casters, switches, wire bundles, etc.

Everytime I come across a game with no door I think about that giant yellow construction dumpster full of back doors. Free for the taking.

That was the day of the 'all you can haul $5 games'. At least at the end, it was.

Awesome!

Back doors... coin doors... LOCKS... I never get a lock... or when I do... I never get the key that goes to it. Ever...

unless the back door key is on the hanger inside the coin door..for which you don't have the key ....

Yeah..we had to make ..what .. three trips with the 5x9 trailer that day..and still gutted cabinets onsite to make room. LOL Man that was an awesome trip!

there is a guy I know who has/had a problem/habbit of taking off the back doors, monitor glass and putting them all together. He also used to lineup the monitors outside the games too. It made no sense to me. Maybe he watched a little too much pink floyd the wall.

I once bought a Harley Davidson & LA Riders cab with no keys for the coin door. After prying open the lock, I found the keys inside the coin bucket.
