Today I swapped out some 45s in our SMC-1. I added in Ghostbusters, Thriller, and Dream Warriors in honor of the forthcoming holiday. I also put Legs back in, because I'm sick of hearing the version that keeps getting played on the radio, which is missing the keyboard track heard in the MTV video version. Why do people have to constantly mess with stuff??!!

We added a bunch of different Halloween themed tunes to the mix.
It was almost 100% spooky tunes this year

The Misfits - Dig Up her Bones & Halloween & Monster Mash
Total Coelo - I Eat Canibals
Village Stompers - Haunted House Blues
Whodini - The Freaks Come Out At Night
The Doors - People Are Strange
Fifth Estate - Dong Dong The Witch Is Dead
Jim Carroll Band - People Who Died (Short Version)
Wanda Chrome & the Leather Pharaohs - Werewolf
Ray Charles - Hit The Road Jack

And as an extra festive Martha Stewart style holiday bonus, we made a big pumpkin head design out of the title strips. Rachel Ray eat your heart out!

SCORED !!! So I joined this site 'cause I enjoy fixing the arcades in my laundromat. Read a thread and it got me to search CL for free section, WTF?? Someone had two FREE Jukes, called him, our schedules aren't gonna click for a while. Talk to the wife, "Jukes are cool', guess that's a gren light. Eff it, "let me know when I can pick up the Jukes and I'm there". He's got one keeper and two he's getting go for free. He decides to let me have all three for free. Got a Seeburg LS325, very rough, a Rowe R93, looks like it's missing a some module and the arm is just lying there, both are going to be "PROJECTS", and a Rock Ola 445, that looks like it's complete, has probably 50 45's in it, most are country (ugh), gonna try it out tomorrow. Chrome need's redone/replaced, needs cosemetic's.I'm thinking he let me have the Rock 'cause he knew the others need $ and lotsa love. He bought them as a package with a slot machine he WANTED. Guess Karma saw me not kick that cat...

Pulled the flourscent bulb that lights up the title strips out of my R-89 Rowe. It was starting to flicker and the flickering was affecting my LED selection and playing displays.

Pulled that puppy quick. Picking up a new bulb and starter today.

Doing that now, then pulling Halloween records :001_ssad:
Loading the Christmas tunes always bums me out for some reason.

Some new ones this year may help.
One of them is: F**k Christmas by FEAR

I'm right there with ya on the Xmas load depression. My kids forced me over the weekend to drop the Chipmunk Song 45 in already. I am nowhere near ready for Xmas yet. :(

My jukes live in our unheated summerhouse. So they get covered in bubblewrap and each has a 40watt lamp in the base on a timer to provide some heat. I also keep a box of moisture absorbent crystals in both.
I usually only play them when I'm working in the garden, but at this time of year I just play a few A and B sides on a couple of days each week to keep them turning over.

Hi,

You can get the type in small sealed bags (these are normally packed with camera equipement) I use the crystals in the boat to combat dampness, the crystals draw the dampness and the water is collected in the lower part of the container. I would howerver not put one of these in the jukebox I would just put it in the room.

You can get the heating tubes which are normally rated at 60watts per foot, these can be plugged into timers or stats.

Hi John,

Those small packets are the ones you can use, however on the boat I buy 5kg bags of the stuff and put it into containers our supermarkets over here sell them complete with a small amount of crystals, quite cheap £3.00 a go.

Alan
