So what did you do to your pins today....

I am spending this week cleaning and organizing my basement, because if I do I will be allowed to bring my pinball machine home from my friends house. So techinacally its working on my pin.

I stopped by my local electronics store to pick up fuses, fuse holders, a handful of diodes, IEC-C14 cable, and a battery holder.

Struck out on all counts. They need to order all the parts in for me :( Hoping to have them in by the long weekend, as with my order from Pinball Life. The only things that are holding me back from a weekend full of pinball repair fun!

Installed more LED's in Cyclone and Funhouse. Reds, blues, purples, and greens look great. No real gain from yellow and orange. Flashers look sweet!

Need to start a full shop job on Funhouse, just scored it about 10 days ago for a nice price - fully working, excellent playfield but dirty as hell.

Having an issue with the back GI lights on my FishTales. I replaced 3 header pins/connectors played about 20 games, now the back GI on the playfield is out for some reason...also trying to sort out my f114/f115 error on my Bram Stoker's Dracula. God damn I'm starting to get very frustrated with these slutty pins...

I need a pin repair guru to come over for a repair party...

I got my Mind Orbit Pearlescent Slow color changing shooter in the mail today for my CV!

Should be a nice addition to an already amazing looking machine!

I think I finally found my coil lockup issue, a bad fuse holder just prior to the rectifier bridge for the logic circuit. That, and the blanking signal is only 3.5v.... ugh.

At least I'm finally getting a chance to play a bit. Working midnights this week, and that always makes things tough.

No chance to update the website yet since I put the driver board back, but as I never did reply on page one here to give the link.....

Hopefully I can get some updates done the next couple of days.

I finally got that fuse clip replaced, and it's been stable ever since. I'll be a happy camper if I solved that lockup problem at last. I've been playing the hell out of the machine to see if it occurs, and not a single event yet.

Then I did some website updates as well, and sent out a half dozen e-mails about different topics to different people. Not many replies back yet though.

Beat the world record on Mario Andretti...only 1200 made...but there is a glitch in the cpu logic when you get 30 Gallons of gas it asks if you want to trade it in for double your score, well when you do that it does not remove the 30 gallons so next time you hit the ramp it asks you again...hehehe So I got 9.7 billion...it only goes to 9.9 billion the resets.

More info on this? Pics?

I rechecked the driver transistor for the dead left flipper of my LotR. It is fried. And the EOS switch is working fine. (Although I think the software protects the flipper coil even if the EOS switch is stuck closed.) Checking if anything else is out of the ordinary before calling Stern tech support to make sure I haven't missed anything before replacing the fried parts.

Last night I...
Stripped, cleaned, waxed the playfield; replaced bulbs, rubber, and ball; re-assembled playfield; replaced all the fuse clips and some diodes on the rectifier board; and adjusted the slingshots a bit to increase sensitivity.

Today I'm stripping and repainting the legs; replacing the bulbs under the playfield; replacing a burnt connector; adding a battery pack to the MPU; and cleaning up after yesterday.

A big couple of days for a first timer.

Also, MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... carnuba wax. Girlfriend hates the smell, I can't get enough of it.

Edit: Too much rum this evening. Got the legs primed and soldered in a battery pack (i'll throw pics up in my thread tomorrow), and cleaned up a bit, the rest is gonna have to wait till the morning.

Over the weekend I fully stripped down my World Cup Soccer '94. That's a machine that is deceptively complicated. On the surface it looks fairly standard, but it has lots of layers. Putting that Cliffy set of protectors on was no simply task. Today I will put on the new plastics set after I wax up the playfield. After that, everything else goes back on and the shop job will be complete.
