so what did u do with your games today?

Seeing the prices on a Peter Packrat controls, I am going to build my own. I ordered a harness last week from Ken (guy is awesome), I got in a control stick the other day (not the official, but, it's an 8 way with a button on top), ordered the parts create Peter Packrat controls (the blue cover, screws, gasket, etc ), ordered the Atari button for the top (jump button) last night, and today came in the red buttons for it.

Once the harness comes in I will mount them to thick cardbord, or even scrap wood for testing, put in the game in my system 1, and test. If all tests ok, I will get the blank control panel and the art for it.

It will look exactly like a OEM, and should play just as well for 1/3 of the cost of the official one....

This will be the last System 1 kit I need before the impossible to find parts for Relief Pitcher system 1 game, like a protype game that is floating around. I would bet I could not afford it if I found one but, nice to dream.

I wish I had the room for 6 machines but, got only 5 different ones, but, having all the system 1 machines would be cool.

I replaced the controle panel overlays on 3 of my machines last night. Very satisfying to see them with nice clean art.

I finally got a crt back into my pacman cab. And followed that up with frying my bootleg street fighter board. Either had something between 5v and ground or the jamma plug was off center.

Got Aqua-Gun working, and with that, every game across two game rooms is nominally functional. There are still things to be done, but as of right now, every game I have is playable! That's an enormous milestone for someone that can only afford broken shit.

With the help of my tenant, Cam, I got my new Galaga into my basement. Boy, was this thing a dust fest! First, I cleaned the edge connector AND plug with Electronics cleaner. Fuzzy picture, no more! Next, I replaced the marquee light. I only have Bayonet lamps, so I need to find the lamps with the flat plastic bottoms for the coin door. I'm guessing, ArcadeShop?

Got this 29in yatta 988 (clone chassis) back from being out for repairs a couple weeks ago. Finally set aside some time today and yesterday to build a completely new power setup that includes an isolation transformer and surge protector for my Naomi NetBoot. Got everything dialed in and back in the OK Baby. Had this cabinet all summer and it's only worked for a day after I brought it home. Next step is to strip it back down, sand, paint, and apply new artwork.

After getting it up and running again, cleaned up the rest of the garage just in time for some fall weather in the Garage Arcade.

I've been playing around with the idea of selling my Ok Baby. I've redone all the wiring besides the control panel. Fallen out of love for the project. Maybe after seeing how yours turns out @TheNickDuong I might continue with my project lol.

I'm was determine to get this thing working one way or another. Originally lined up a neotec nt-500 to replace this monitor. But somehow, my local operator managed to figure this chassis out and had an easier time fixing it vs fixing the neotec to sell me. Saved me like $200

Pretty nervous to strip this thing down, sand, and respray. I've never used a paint gun before 🤣.

But here's the artwork I got from arcadeartrepro.con

That's the same method I'm thinking about going. I just hate sanding with a passion lol. Mine came with one of those universal chassis so replacing mine was easy, but the power solution I ended up finding a guy on eBay in Italy that ended up selling me pretty much all the internals for a reasonably good price. I also picked up a repro panel from Alberto because the control panel I got was rusted as hell. I need to get new side art and what not though lol.

Got the convergence pretty close to dialed in on a tube swap.. This was my first time changing yoke and rings. I got frustrated and tossed it on a shelf for a long time.View attachment 847943
I tried a tube swap for the second time on a k7400 chassis. Thing started smoking and the monitor has been sitting on my shelf ever since lol. I'm thinking I need a k7400 yoke for it specifically.

Did you happen to reverse V and H when making new plugs? I did that once and let out the magic smoke..lol

I don't think I did. I used the yoke that came with the tv and I think the ohms ranges are too far off to be compatible. But, then again. I am an idiot sometimes.
