so what did u do with your games today?

I don't own an outrun, I was curious if they are tapping a bass signal from the board somehow. I was interested for other games. Sorry for the confusion.
No need for an apology! You can probably do the same for any game, take the audio signal and feed it through a sub.

I turned on my Firepower the other night, and the bottom segment was out on the P1, P2, and Master Display boards.

The schematics show that segment "d" (bottom segment) for P1, P2, and Master all go back to the IC4 CD4543B decoder.

First I checked all the transistors/resistors in that circuit, all were good. I have a couple Sys3-7 MDB parts boards, so I swapped out the bad CD4543. Very simple fix!!

So the backdrop art in my Battlezone was in pretty rough shape....something dripped on it in a few spots, stained in lots of spots(maybe mold/condensation)....spots where it looks like moths?(who knows what) ate the paper away in lots of places..It's a mystery to me because the cab is in good shape with no moisture damage...

The .good thing was when I picked the game up somehow the seller had a backup ORIGINAL BZ backdrop included in the deal...only problem with it is the side flaps were very warped...I had stacked 2 foot high of guitar mags on each of the sides(after heating them with a hair dryer) for like a month trying to flatten the sides and while it did improve it they were still warped, cardboard has a memory that's hard to break..

So I had a clothes steamer and steamed the back sides of each of the sides and ironed them until flat again(ironed/steamed the back side as to not touch the front artwork. It took about 4-5 passes but I ended up getting them good enough...also the staple holes had to be repaired with cardboard on the back side of the backdrop glued with Uhu Por contact glue(this stuff rocks)...got it hung tonight..very happy.

THe steam and iron method worked great:

The original backdrop, pretty bad!:

With the middle staple hole repaired as described above...when installing the repaired extra backdrop I was able to get the staple aimed perfectly where the the original staple was(bear in mind the placement was different on the original bezel), so it covers up the hole and looks great cosmetically! That was a huge PITA!

The other day I installed the Indiana Jones topper from Elite Pinball Toppers (standard version). I've never spent so much cash on an accessory to a game, but I do love this machine more than any of my other ones and have put a ton of work into it so I figured why not?

I'm impressed as it looks like it was factory made, and it really suits the title nicely.

Very nice, but whatever you do, don't open up the Ark.

Dont' tell anyone, but after repairin'/refurbin'/playin' some of my pins in the last week, I'm starting to see the appeal. ;)

Today my T2 adventure had me cleaning, resoldering and using DeOxit on the 555 bulb sockets and PCB headers on the playfield lights.
So many were oxidized and not working. I'm guessing the metal incompatibility between the 555 bulb wires and the copper sockets is the issue.
Most of the header pins had cracked solder too. The most I've ever seen on a single game.
So much to learn about pin repair. (And I admit I searched around for T2 mods on Ebay).

Tackled Warp Warp's scratched up and burned bezel. 1500-2500 grit paper and then Novus 3 and 2 with a polisher got the deep stuff out.

I picked up a basket case project cab yesterday ( Galaga cabinet with hacked wire harness running Superman through a ninetendo 20 ez). Think I am gonna make a Ms Pacman twin out of this, or a multi trackball machine. Not sure yet. But I always redo the coin doors first. Helps get me moving. So here is some before and afters.1000009928.jpg1000009930.jpg1000009932.jpg1000009934.jpg

Brought a game out of "storage" and into the special room. It needs alot of work. But I'm up for the challenge.
Can you guess the game? :)

Drilled out the rivets on the marquee of the Tempest I'm turning into a Quantum. Waiting on some black button head socket bolts to hold the new one.

Still looking to get the marquee and CPO made, TOG isn't really answering their emails about it so the main issue is finding someone with the Quantum assets to work from.

TOG don't do customs anymore. Eh?
You're going to have to look elsewhere.

They did say that but apparently they had already done one for @scott451 like ten years ago so I asked if they had the files still but they aren't getting back to me.

I'm probably gonna have to just buy a full size CPO to have someone scan and work on. Was talking to gameongrafix who said they could do the marquee but didn't have a CPO to work from.
